Fluttershyfan94 5,742 June 1, 2020 Share June 1, 2020 If it does not add to the story then I typically believe they don't really belong in the movie. However, I realize that they are trying to cater to an audience. People like romance so thats what you are given a romance. Though I don't know I can't relate to these lovey dovey things and if anything is uncomfortable to me yes. So yeah same opinion as the OP then. 2 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
Prince Doopliss 2,351 June 1, 2020 Share June 1, 2020 As long is it is well written. Fine, but most of the time it is force, just no. I mean if there is nothing realistic or organic Just don't try to be romantic! 2 Signature by @Sparklefan1234

ExplosionMare 18,087 June 1, 2020 Share June 1, 2020 Yes unless the romance is somewhat justified. I’m actually watching a Netflix show right now where all they do is put random characters together and have them date and break up all the time. Originally, it was going to be a medical show . Well, more like a medical drama but with less graphic details. 1 Boom!

I just dislike this perpetuated notion that Hollywood and popular media pushes out that you HAVE to be with someone to be happy! Yes it helps and im not trying to go all MGTOW here but much of it just seems to cater the hopeless romantic women type etc.
Stone Cold Steve Jobs 22,442 June 12, 2020 Share June 12, 2020 It depends. If the romance is well written I have no issue with it. But when a movie focuses on a non romantic plot and then just romance ex machina happens, you lose me. 1 And that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so! Here No Longer 5,277 June 12, 2020 Share June 12, 2020 If they add nothing to the movie or if they become the main plot, it kind of does. If not, it depends if it makes any sense within context and how tired I am of the trope at the time.
Olly 1,011 June 19, 2020 Share June 19, 2020 Supremely pointless but in basically every movie about anything ever. What's the point in shoehorning in a subplot with a love interest if it has nothing to do with the actual plot and doesn't contribute to the story in any meaningful way? get rid of these useless characters. We have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen more than we say.
vampireponyprince 184 June 20, 2020 Share June 20, 2020 Depends on the situation rom coms imply relationships But medical movies and adventure stuff they dont always need to have a side love plot it could be a downfall to a movie with good potential Horror movies fall victim to it all the time
