@@Ethan Sawyer, "I understand the concept behind what you're saying. While admittedly, pre war it may have been possible to attempt something that drastic and dangerous, but in the modern world we just don't have the tech to do that. It would require a full neural connection between my brain and the entire system, updated regularly, monitored for chance. Plus what I think, what I do and what I say are three very different things. If I was somehow successful in doing such an amazing feet of science, the security would most likely shoot everyone. With the exception of the two maybe three people in this world I see as true allies and friends. Passing mercs would never get into my subconscious as friends. If I didn't need their help I would have just let them be or killed them on sight if I saw them as a threat." White sighed as he slumped back in his chair, while the change was only small, using magic to type on such a small keyboard was slightly irritating. He could use his cybernetic hooves since they have a function which could be useful in this situation, but that secret would have to wait. "Honestly. I'm just pissed off. Picture yourself in my situation. 10 years you've kept this place a secret. Your own sanctuary in a world that tries everyday to kill you. Then some random merc with Split Personality disorder and several mental issues that need not be mentioned, brings a complete stranger into this place, he may be a Dweller, but that's the problem. His kind fresh from the vault do not how to keep their mouth shut. I'm not a bad person. I don't want to be a bad person. Is it wrong of me for wanting to protect my home? Why am I bothering even talking to you about it. I'm a 37 year old washed up mare, I've been living in this wasteland for the last 22 years of my life. Why did I expect you to be able to understand? You've been here for less than a day, since your little display at R-7 I could only guess. Don't act surprised I know about that. It's my job to know these things after all. Why am I still bothering to blabber on to you about all this? It's not like you care. Maybe I'm just looking for justification to continue living as long as I have. Maybe I've gone soft in my old age."

Crackshot snarled in frustration at Hazelnut pointing out the thunder wouldn't mask the sniper fire, and he went to lean against the wall and think.

He noticed Foray and Kronos were missing, and thought not much of it - they'll either be back or dead.

He glanced down at the floor as his brain worked for ideas. "The thunder would at least mask our location... if we have waterproof overcoats or something... but we need camo... urgh." He sighed and shook his head. These raiders were far more professional and prepared than what he was expecting Blooddrop knew what she was doing.

He raised a hoof and placed it on the heart-shaped pendant around his neck. The pink paint was worn and rusted with age, being a pre-war accessory.

You watching? You think I'm doing the right thing?

37 year old mare. That doesn't seem right. I mean, she certainly looks the part. And is one. But why do I feel like it's a lie if it's so obviously not?

"No, you're right. I have no idea what you mean. But yea. I could see how some idiot bringing someone in without your permission is a massive problem. I'll also assume you can't just kick them our for fear of them telling. Or maybe it's not fear. Maybe it's just annoying. "

@@Ethan Sawyer, "Oh it's fear alright. The fear that I may have lost the one place I feel safe. The only place in the world I can call my own. My home. This bunker is irreplaceable to me. It's important to me. I don't want to lose it. So knowing that its safety could very well be at risk. Frightens me. It honestly does. Yeah, I'm going soft in my old age."

Hazelnut saw the frustration clearly on the unicorn's face, and if that wasn't it the unicorn's mannerisms clearly showed how much the mission weighed on his mind. Hazelnut didn't regret bringing up the information from earlier, quite the opposite really. A pony needed to know what to do when the situation called for it and telling the unicorn the cold truth would only help in the end. The unicorn in his moping brought up a pendant and whispered to it, this peaked Hazelnut's interest but he didn't want to intrude when something was clearly personal. The ranger waited till it seemed like the unicorn was ready to talk, as the ranger did he wondered about the locations of his other teammates, the longer he pondered the more worried he got. Not wanting to jinx himself Hazelnut refocused his attention to the unicorn.

"I know this is difficult, and it's true the odds aren't particularly in our favor at the moment. But stressing over it like this isn't going to wipe out these so called raiders. So instead of moping lets brainstorm, you and me," Hazelnut said reassuringly to the unicorn before sitting down his metal haunches next to the unicorn. "The enemy is large in number and well equipped, and judging by the rumors, are professional and well disciplined. Their equipment is similar in capacity to Redeye's bunch a while back. The multitude of empty supply caches the rangers found in Fillydelphia may explain their armaments, where they got their training is a complete mystery. Personally, they don't seem tougher than any talon group I've ever fought, the only difference I can find is in their size. Their exact number and equipment is unknown by me, you may have an explanation that would prove beneficial for me to hear."

"We have a party no bigger in number than ten, with a wide range of armaments. Shotguns, pistols of various calibers, rifles, and my own heavy weaponry, only a few of them having any significant range. Unfortunately for us we're quite lacking in the armor department for most of our party members, either we suit them up or have them take cover, I would expect a large amount of bullets being showered in our direction and little to no armor would be a death sentence. The snipers are our biggest worry, if we can't find them this mission is over.  It would be best if we approach from the hills, it has a few trees for cover and we have a significantly higher chance of finding our snipers there, there is also the added bonus of having the high ground. My grenade machine gun and missile launcher both have a a similar range to an anti-machine rifle believe it or not, something that's worked well in my favor many times. If we can spot them I assure you my missiles will hit. If you can make use of this advice I'd be fairly impressed scaver."(Then again, it didn't take a genius to understand equestrian) Hazelnut told his plan of action and hoped the unicorn would add to it.

Perhaps this tin can would be alright for the team after all.

"Those spotters are what worry me," he muttered, "If we had some kind of thermal trackers, we'd have a less awkward time looking for them. Those trees will give us good cover, and we can use the grass and stuff as camo."

Oh dear. Emotions. How the hell do I respond. "Well, uhh. You're not going soft White. I don't think it matters how old you are, if you've spent some amount of time with something I guess it would be relatively scary to lose it." And here I am speaking from experience.

@@Ethan Sawyer, "Take me back about 5 years ago and that kid would already be dead, disembowelled, dismembered and disintegrated. That Kronos guy would make for some good scrap materials. Well whatever. I'm old and washed up, this will most likely be the last noticeable thing I do before I die. Failure or success. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory and have something good to my name. Even though, I'm just the person who tells the story, while those mercs do the hard work. Ain't no place in history for me. Alright, time to get out of this slump I got myself into and so some work. Could you do me a favour, run back and tell everyone to follow these specific instructions. I'll write it down for you." Levitating an old note pad, Quill and ink, White began to write what he was saying. "In 10 minutes time, those who can, leave the room and turn right. Continue down the hallway and take the first door on the left you come across. Take the stairs down two floors. Go to the very end of that Corridor until you reach a large shutter door and open it." White ripped the note out of the book and passed it to Scarlett. "Can you do this little thing for me please?"

Comet let his hooves dangle over the small lip he decided to perch on. The world around him remained barren and silent, with only the faintest hint of life hanging on the horizon, shrouded by fog and putrid clouds. A sigh escaped his lips and he scratched his mane with a hoof. Rolling his eyes, he let himself drop from the cliff, slicing through the air at a blistering speed towards the ground below before spreading wings and breaking the fall mere inches from his demise. A powerful breeze tore through every strand of his mane, the once neatly formed style acting wild and untamed as Comet flew towards the bunker which he saw the group enter.

The pegasus slowed down and let his hooves dig into the soil below. "So boring. I'm tired of sitting around already...what's taking those ponies so long?" He growled, spotting the hatch and trying to heave it open, with no such success. Comet grunted and pulled and pushed harder and harder, gritting his teeth with his hooves sliding all about the place. With strength failing, he groaned in annoyance and sat down on his flank next to the hatch with his hooves crossed tightly.

While simply sitting on White's chair doing seemingly nothing, Kronos was getting really bored.

"Ugh, I'm so bored," he groaned, "I really feel like doing something around here, but at the same time, I feel like I couldn't do much." Taking the thought into consideration, he started singing to take his mind off of the situation,

"It's a beautiful day outside,

Birds are singing, flowers are blooming

On days like this, goddamn raiders

Should be burning in hell.

Turn around kids, it'd be a crime

If I had to go back on the promise that I made to you

So don't step over that line

Or else, friends, you're gonna have a bad time

But kids like you don't play by the rules

And guys like me, it ain't easy to be played for fools,

So let's go, let the room get chiller

Let's go, dirty pony killers

Go ahead and try to hit me, if you're able

Guess you figured by now, mercy's off the table

I can tell you're getting really sick of trying

But I think you're just mad you keep dying

You're never gonna win, we'll be here together

Fighting in this judgement hall forever

And you'll keep coming back each time we beatchya

And we'll always be right beck here to meetchya

I know you're made o-o-o-o-o-of

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

Hmm hmm hmmmmmm

Hmmm hmmmmmm

Hm-m-m-m-mmmmmmmmmmm

This is where it stops

This is where it ends

If you wish to get past us,

Well you'd better try again

But no matter how we stall you,

You never give up your attacks

Do you guys just like the feeling

Of your sins crawling on your backs.

Go ahead and try to hit me, if you're able

You should know by now that mercy's off the table

Think that you can try to spare me like I'm some pawn,

Well you never spared my friends, so get dunked on

I know you made my friends all disappear

But everything they cared about is why I'm here

I am their mercy, I am their vengeance

I am determination.

I know you're made o-o-o-o-o-of

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove lo-o-o-o-o-o-ove

But I know I'm stronger than you."

Kronos gave a sigh of relief as he finished singing

Are you serious? What is this guy doing? singing right now? You'd think he have better things to do. Ugh whatever at least he stopped now.

Crackshot glanced up as the Steel Ranger spoke again. He nodded, considering his ideas and suggestions. They were all sounded like good calls.

Funny, he mentions how we have a lot firearms and gun user. But he failed to mention the fact I use a bow and arrow. *sigh* Looks like I'll be going without a weapon for sometime

"Though I doubt I'll have any use for the paper copy." I smiled weakly, having not done it recently.

I walked through the corridor to the main room and stood at the door. I looked around for a moment before tapping the wall a couple of times to get everyone attention. "Hello everyone. Small message from White. In 10 minutes time we all need to leave the room and turn right. We then continue down the hallway and take the first door on the left that we come across. We take the stairs down two floors, then go to the very end of that corridor until we reach a large shutter door. Then we open it. And, well, I'm not sure. They didn't say anything else."

Crackshot was snapped out of his runaway train of thought by the red mare announcing something. He looked up to show he was listening.

Right, first door on the left, two floors down, shutter door. Got it.

He gave the mare a small nod, keeping his shoulder leaned against the wall. "Thanks, kid."

Lupus heard Kronos' song and then said, "That was pretty good, but what do you think of this?

Well I was there on the day

They sold the cause for the queen,

And when the lights all went out

We watched our lives on the screen.

I hate the ending myself,

But it started with an alright scene.

It was the roar of the crowd

That gave me heartache to sing.

It was a lie when they smiled

And said, "you won't feel a thing"

And as we ran from the cops

We laughed so hard it would sting

Yeah yeah, oh

If I'm so wrong (so wrong, so wrong)

How can you listen all night long? (night long, night long)

Now will it matter after I'm gone?

Because you never learn a goddamned thing.

You're just a sad song with nothing to say

About a life long wait for a hospital stay

And if you think that I'm wrong,

This never meant nothing to ya

I spent my high school career

Spit on and shoved to agree

So I could watch all my heroes

Sell a car on tv

Bring out the old guillotine

We'll show 'em what we all mean.

Yeah yeah, oh

If I'm so wrong (so wrong, so wrong)

How can you listen all night long? (night long, night long)

Now will it matter long after I'm gone?

Because you never learn a goddamned thing.

You're just a sad song with nothing to say

About a life long wait for a hospital stay

And if you think that I'm wrong,

This never meant nothing to ya

So go, go away, just go, run away.

But where did you run to? And where did you hide?

Go find another way, price you pay

Woah,

Woah,

Woah,

Woah,

Woah,

Woah

You're just a sad song with nothing to say

About a life long wait for a hospital stay

And if you think that I'm wrong,

This never meant nothing to ya, come on

You're just a sad song with nothing to say

About a life long wait for a hospital stay

And if you think that I'm wrong,

This never meant nothing to ya

At all,

at all,

at all,

at all."

Lupus was then silent after he finished and stared down at the floor deep in thought about something.

Edited by DamienBolt8592

I've been gone from this world for what seems like millennia, Looking for nothing short of a miracle, I only ever wanted to come home, Please won't you let me go? When I have nowhere left I can run away, Will you lie to me, tell me I'll be okay? Close my eyes and lay me in my tomb. Then pull the trigger and send me home.

"Does that include me? 'Cause I didn't think I was allowed to leave."

Lupus heard Kronos' song and then said, "That was pretty good, but what do you think of this?

Well I was there on the day

They sold the cause for the queen,

And when the lights all went out

We watched our lives on the screen.

I hate the ending myself,

But it started with an alright scene.

It was the roar of the crowd

That gave me heartache to sing.

It was a lie when they smiled

And said, "you won't feel a thing"

And as we ran from the cops

We laughed so hard it would sting

Yeah yeah, oh

"Hehehe," Kronos chuckled, "I don't remember that song from the old pre-war radio. Then again, I only sing songs I've heard before and most ofthem no one's ever heard. I'm starting to like you, kid. Can't say the same for the rest of these guys, though, especially Paladin Deez Nutz over there."

Lupus looked at Kronos, "At least someone around here does. And I agree, I can't say I like that Paladin either. He tried to take Sheila, and up until now, she's been my only company." He paused for a moment and then continued, "And about that song, Disenchanted, by My Chemical Romance. I've always liked it because I can relate to the lyrics. 'You're just a sad song with nothing to say, about a life long wait for a hospital stay.' Back before any of this happened, I was the outcast at school. The one who tried his best to ignore the bullies talking trash and spitting insults at me all the time. It was all I thought my life would ever be, just the same thing every day for the rest of my life, and then it would be over, the end, and everyone would forget I was even there." He paused again and then resumed what he had been saying, "You know, I've never opened up like this to anyone before. Because everyone either ignored me, or just didn't care. You are literally the first person aside from my parents, that has ever been nice to me, and I really appreciate that."

"Hey, I can relate," Kronos replied, "How do you think I got these cybernetics in me? 1500 years of warfare and bloodshed. Each cybernetic you see is a part of my original body replaced with robotics. Combine that with the massive amounts of radiation I've succumbed to and that leads to excruciating pain every second of the day. We're trained to fight from the second we're born and we either grow up to become a soldier or we die before our teenage years. Yeah, my culture was really harsh. But still, conditions like that make for very strong and resilient soldiers for the army. Plus, since we were isolated and didn't have to abide by the royal legislation over two millennium, our kingdom was able to develop very advanced weapons. I know that that's  a lot to take in, but yeah, it's true and don't tell anyone that I told you that, okay kid?"

Hang on a second. I'm not a kid! Facing Crackshot, I made a motion as if I was about to talk, but stopped before I got to the point of opening my mouth. But why. Why can't I bring myself to stand up again him, what the fuck?! "No problem Shut."

"Does that include me? 'Cause I didn't think I was allowed to leave."

I turned to the pony who just spoke. "I don't know. I just repeated what White told me to say."

Well, at least I'm not the only one who doesn't find this... freaking singing annoying...

Foray had managed to remain sitting silently in the dark corner for a bit, and while the other ponies were caught up in their less-than-practical activities, she'd taken the opportunity to grab a bite to eat from White's pantry. She'd been surprised to see stasis-contained apples in stock, and not just any apples, but ripe, luscious red apples. She pondered taking all of them for herself, but decided against it, instead simply opening one and eating it quickly and quietly before returning to the main room.

A bit bored with her situation and a bit frustrated that she couldn't find White's workbench -- she was doubting that he even had one -- she sidled up against her old partner Quiet and asked, "How's it going?"

After reigning his thoughts together, he whispered, "You're the prince of a forgotten Kingdom? Wow, that sounds pretty cool. But, knowing what a responsibility that must be, it probably isn't as much fun as one would think. And you have advanced weapons that shoot hard light particles? That sounds like some of the pre-war video games that I used to play."

"Don't you think those orders are a little too specific?" Hazelnut whispered to the unicorn after the red mare delivered her message from the owner of the bunker. "I'm surprised you kept him in good fate after he unloaded a 44 into the noggin of our friend over there. Powers or not he didn't even think twice before doing it. How are we supposed to trust a pony like that to help us after putting his actions into consideration." The ranger was fairly certain the unicorn also had his doubts about the pipbuck wielding stallion, but it always helped to give a little push into the direction the ranger needed. Hazelnut didn't have a single ounce of faith in the unicorn and would prefer it if he had allies to get in the way of his 44 if things went south, which the ranger assumed would most likely occur fairly soon. "We might as well follow those instructions, the promise of supplies is just too great to ignore despite the risk." The ranger stated before following the instructions and delving deeper into the bunker with his weapons primed.

"I trust her a hell of a lot more than I can throw him," Crackshot mumbled, glancing aside toward the Steel Ranger, "I've seen ambushes, I know the signs. Plus, I've dealt with trigger-happy ponies before."

He took a subtle look toward Kronos and Lupus. "Besides, I could use a quieter place to think."

"Yes, you're right, kid," Kronos replied, "It wasn't as much fun as one would think. I mean, in my society there, your rank and status was based on how strong you were as a soldier, and being a prince, well, you can guess what that meant. Still, I was one of the youngest soldiers to rise to the rank of General. I was so powerful, I became a member of not one, but TWO of my kingdom's most elite groups of soldiers: the Reavers and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In the Reavers, I was known as 'Kronos, the Devourer' because I was known for eating the flesh and blood of my enemies. Amongst the Horsemen, I was known as Death. My mother was known as Strife and my father was known as War and I had a sister, Rhea, who was known as Pestilence. Together, my parents, my sister and I were the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Oh yeah, and those 'condensed-photon projectile wepons'? Yeah, I heard that those were implemented into some pre-war video games, and with astounding accuracy, I might add. I was really impressed when I saw their accurate depiction in the video games."

The instant that the 10 minutes had passed I opened my eyes and stood up straight after leaning on the wall. "It's been 10 minutes. Time to follow directions."

I left the room and turned right, before continuing down the hallway and taking the first door on the left. I began walking down two floors, then I arrived in a corridor. On the way down the corridor, I saw a room with a violin piled on top of some other things. Ignoring it, I continued down to a large shutter door. "Here we go I guess." I said as I pushed onto and kept puthing on a button on the wall to the right of me. The shutter lifted and a room full of weapons was pulled into view. "Oh-ho-ho! Nice!"

I released my push on the button and stepped inside looking around. Holy fuck.
