Her name is Cheerilee, not Sherily. And she does teach.

Or she could be an english teacher and that scene was where she and here class where in the library for an assignment and she was taking care of things because of that.

Now that you mention it, her face does look rather strange, but I'm not sure about her stance.

 

I think the only teachers we've actually seen are Cheerilee and Cranky (what would be his name in the EqG world, anyway?). As for why Cheerilee is also a librarian, I don't really know, but it's not impossible, really.

 

I also headcanon that Big Mac is also a teacher in agriculture or social studies or something, rather than another student, since he should be about the same age as Cheerilee. Then again, ages are kinda weird in the EqG world, so that may be kind of a moot point.

Maybe she's a teacher and librarian? Good observation tho... I didn't really think about that! Although I know that there is a part where she is writing on the blackboard (I think some pony posted it).
