gaming Pokemon Yellow, Blue, and Red - Out now for 3DS!

They have arrived! The classic Gameboy games, Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow are out now for the 3DS! With wireless functions! That's pretty cool. I have downloaded Pokemon Yellow so far and I named my Pikachu Meepshkee. :3 So far I have caught a male Nidoran and a Mankey, still very early in the game. It brings back so many memories. ^__^

 

Let's discuss it! Any of you have any of the games on 3DS? Current team? Nostalgic joys? :3

First gen is the gen for which I've the most affection; though I don't know if I'd have the patience to play Red nowadays. xD  Back in the day, my brother and I both had these heavy gray brick-things with yellow-y green screens that were apparently meant for playing games.  I had Red and selected Charmander as my first Pokemon, and my brother had Blue and selected Squirtle as his first Pokemon.  This...  Probably put me at a disadvantage in subsequent link battles. x )  I also remember investing in a Game Boy Game Genie and using it to encounter the infamous "Missingno" glitch Pokemon.

The classic Pokemon games are always most nostalgic, and hearing that Red, Blue and Yellow are available for the 3DS makes me very excited

Might pick up Yellow, that was the version I played growing up. Unfortunately the save battery sucks so I run the risk of losing everything

Even though gen 1 isn't my favorite, it is pretty cool that they are getting a virtual console release for the 3ds.

Got yellow on pokemon day, just starting it up brought back sweet memories. Can't even turn the sound off. Gonna make sweeter when I beat it on the first try like a pro rather than the know nothing I was 16 years ago when I first started. I literally would play up to the league then go catch the birds and try to beat the league with them fresh caught. Totally got my bumm kicked. Now I'm gonna go right through with my perfect gen 1 team.

 

So far I'm gonna be heading to mt moon with 4 slots filled (got Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance on 7 day loan from the library and trying to beat it before it's due). My team thus far (just after the gym since I healed and saved/quit) is;

Lv. 11 Pidgey

Lv. 11 Pikachu

Lv. 12 Mankey

I plan on adding Bulbasaur and Eevee/Vaporeon when I'm able.

I don't have a 3DS but I found a GBC and it has Yellow in it, so been playing that and trying to get my paws on Gold...
