Pink Lemonade noted the responses of each of the others. She wondered what the purpose of having them react so briefly was. If she'd been running the show she'd've figured letting all the subjects bond in some way would make leverage a little easier for the testers to exploit, but then she too followed the others, making sure to stay in the very back of the troop.

The lines turned left at the end of the hall, entering a sort of security tunnel, then right again at the next juncture in the tunnel, opening into another large white room, the left side was windowed showing stairs on the other side of a closed door further forward leading down to a lower level. The lines continued forward onto a glass sided walkway over a sort of office area which looked pristine despite no signs of recent activity. Another closed door at the left side of the end of the walkway connected to stairs down to the office area. The lines ended in a square room on the other side of the walkway, a screen in the room showed a live image of the previous room from under the walkway.

Pink had never seen so much gray in her life, and looked around with her teeth bared in a grimace. She'd have thought higher life forms to be more . . . creative when it came to interior decor. Nothing but gray and black and sharp angles. Blech.

When Shadow got into the end room, He sat down and looked at them. He chuckled a bit at the sight of the other test subjects. He got up, opened a portal, threw his scythe in and said as he placed a leg through about to step in,

"I'm out of here. There isn't anything to attack."

Redwood was surprised by her fairly mundane surroundings. It seemed safe to assume if that whoever had kidnapped them was blabbering on about different dimensions, they'd at least take them someplace more interesting than an office. 

 

"Ah'm gettin' real tired of this," she muttered to herself.

As she walked, Gale studied the area around her. It didn't look like there were any possible exits from where they were, so escape wasn't really an option at this point. When she got to the end room, she simply say down and aired for the others to arrive. "I guess this is where the actual tears begin." She thought. "I don't know if I can trust the others, though."

Copper looked at the area that he went in with the others.  It looked so gray that even Pinkie Pie wouldn't know how to liven up the place.  He shrugged, then saw a portal with someone leaving this area.  He grabbed that one and tossed him away from the portal.

"Subject 2113-2 exhibits powers similar to subject 106. Noted, Special Containment Procedures updated." The intensity of light in the room was increased like a spotlight on Shadow to remove shadows from the room.

 

The wall on the opposite side of the room from where they entered pulled away to reveal a large security door. "​Beginning Dimensional Gate test." The large security door began to open slowly, revealing a concrete statue facing the side wall, it stood just taller than a normal Earth pony. The voice seemed surprised, rather than the usual monotone it had used prior. "Wait, this is not the correct test, where?" The security doors started to close, just enough that the subjects could not see the statue, then they started opening again, revealing that the statue had moved much closer to them, its face had turned to face them. "That's odd, I can't seem to close the doors. Under no circumstances should you break eye-contact with subject 173 for even a moment or you will be at extreme risk of death."

Shadow closed his eyes and pulled his leg out right before the portal closed. He opened his wings to shield his eyes from the light and said, 

"Alright, I won't try to escape. Will ya turn off that light already, it's hurting my eyes."

He squinted and got closer to it and poked it with his claw.

Redwood had noticed that the statue had moved when she wan't looking, which simply agitated her. To her, this whole thing seemed like somepony was screwing with her. Redwood also figured the lethal force threats still stood, so she grudgingly looked at the statue. She looked suspiciously at the others out of her peripheral vision, as for all she knew, they could be in on it.

Copper was surprised at the sudden notion of everything happening.  From the security doors to a weird-looking pony that faced the group.  But he was determined not to die so early, so he had his eyes dead-locked on the pony.  He then saw the same figure that tried to escape approach the statue-like pony in his peripheral vision.  "Are you seriously trying your hardest to die?  Because if you are, you're succeeding."

Gale noticed the statue and felt a chill go down her spine. She didn't know what experiments were going on in this kind of facility, but knew that she wouldn't be ending up like the monster in front of her anytime soon. Having heard what the speaker said, the dragoness didn't take her eyes off the creature.

Pink experimentally blinked, ready to defend herself if need be, but found that the creature did not kill her. She realized that it did not matter who looked away from it as long as somepony was looking at it to begin with. She slowly looked around while the others' eyes were glued to the statue, but she saw no means of escape.

"That should... Wait, what is going on here?"

 

Suddenly the lights went out for a moment, briefly preventing those gathered from seeing the statue. A sickening sound was heard as the lights flicked back on revealing Shadow Beast's extended forelimb to be crushed between the concrete forehooves of the statue.

 

The lights faltered again as a crash was heard then the sound of metal being dropped behind them, when the lights came back on the monitor behind them was destroyed and the ventilation grate from the ceiling was lying on the floor, a shuffling could be heard in the ceiling.

 

The voice spoke again, though different. "The facility is experiencing multiple Keter and Euclid level containment breaches, full facility lockdown initiated. Emergency containment protocols activating." The door at the far end of the walkway closed while the one that connected to the stairs leading downward opened. The standard lighting had gone offline, leaving a dim emergency lighting that had clearly seen better years, it was difficult to see much around them to be honest.

She turned and looked around at the others before saying, "We gotta get outta here, pronto. You saw what happened to that feller's leg." Redwood pointed at Shadow. "Ah ain't intent on dyin' today, and ah hope y'all ain't either."

Shadow looked at his crushed claw. It took him a few minutes to realize what happened. He looked at the vent and yelled as he flew towards the vent while his claw was falling apart and keeping his distance from the opening,

"Get back here."

He landed, reached into the portal, pulled out his scythe and placed what was left of his claw into the portal, then he walked through the door, dragging the scythe behind him

Chicken Scratch woke up and yawned himself awake , stretching his arms wide as his muscles woke up bit by bit. "That was a great nap~" He muttered to himself as his hoof itched his eyes awake. 

 

His pupils suddenly widened as he noticed the strange room he was currently in . He calmly cleared his throat before taking a long deep breath. 

 

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAaaaaAgh!!!!!!"  He began to panic screaming like an idiot and banging his hooves on the cell's walls. "Where am I! Where am I! Where am I! Where am I! Where am I!" He gibbered repeatedly as he pounded his hooves harder on the walls. 

 

 

 

"Good Morning. You have been in suspension for: [9,131] days. Your specimen has been processed and we are now ready to begin the [Dimensional Return Gate] test. Before we begin, please approach the microphone on the desk and answer the following questions for the testing record."   "What is your name?"   "On a scale of one to ten, how perceptive are you? How intelligent are you? How fast are you?"

 

"Specimen?!" He cried before picking up the microphone. "Listen, you maniac!, This isn't funny!" He exclaimed, his breathing very clearly fast and showed signs of increased hear rate.

 

 

"Chicken Scratch! My Name is Chicken Scratch!!!" He exclaimed. "Please let me out"

 

 

"Perceptive?! Intelligent?! Why are you doing this?!!" He panicked.

 

 

"How fast am I? Show me the exit and I'll show yah!" He uttered.

Gale glanced at Redwood and gave a slight nod. "It sounded like there were more of those things as well." She said. "We need to be careful going forward." The dragoness then noticed that the way they had come in was closed while the stairs were accessible. She then sliwly made her way forward and down, not really knowing what to expect.

Copper didn't know what to do.  His first instinct was to run, but that wouldn't be a good idea, for he would die.  His question, however was answered when he saw someone go down the stairway.  Knowing things will get worse over time, he followed the being.  "Wait for me!"  he called.

Redwood decided to follow suit and go down the stairs with Copper and Gale.

 

"Y'all hold on a second," she said to the two. "Look, ah'm ex-military, ah know what ah'm doin'. Y'all can stay behind me, and ah'll take point. If we take it slow and careful, we'll make it outta here."

In the lower light the facility seemed much more dingy. It felt almost as if this place had been abandoned for a while. Beneath the walkway a puddle of a mysterious black liquid seemed to be slowly absorbing the table it had formed under, but when touched had no effect on those gathered. A door stood on the far side of the room, unlike the doors they had seem previously this one had a button next to it.

"Oh good, I knew there was still some left. Take control of my facility will he? I don't think so." The two cells with remaining occupants was given a slight dose of adrenal vapor to wake them up fully as the doors opened. "I need you to stop subject 079 before he gets you all killed."

Redwood took a minute to survey her surroundings.

 

"Ah'm gettin' real pissed off. What in the hey is goin' on?" she said, voicing her thoughts out loud.

 

First she had woken up in a strange room, then she had seen the statue, and now she was in some strange, dark room.

Shadow turned to the creature that talked and said, 

"How about ya stop wondering what's happening and help

He turned to the door, reached into his portal, and pulled out a crowbar. After trying to pry the door up with one claw. He said as he turned to the others,

"Is anyone a mechanic or good with metal?"

Gale simple rolled her eyes and continued to explore the area. "There's a button on the side. That'll most likely open it. The only question is what's on the other side." She said, somewhat wary. The dragoness could easily blast whatever came out, given that actually worked, but knew that the others would probably get caught in the crossfire.

Inside one of the cells, a Unicorn was just waking up. " Oh, that's great- What- where am I even? In?? I DEMAND TO BE FREED!" She said, and started to punch the cell

 

" I will scream and pretend to be a dama queen until you all free me! I DEMAND!" What a drama queeen shee is.
