​Mary looked at her alarm clock as she woke up. It was time! She hurried downstairs and got dressed and packed a swimsuit in her purse. She hoped that she wouldn't be late. After a bit of running and huffing, she straight up glomped Denise on sight, "Denny! You made it!"

JR woke up out of bed that morning, and looked around. Outside, furs of all kind were making their way towards the beach for the summer festival. He sighed. He knew he wouldn't be able to take any part in the festivities due to his boss's orders. His job was really starting to cripple his social life, but he didn't complain.

After getting dressed in his usual parachute shorts, and blue and white hoodie, the snow cat walked outside of his house and towards the coffee shop. Along the way, he passed by a few furs that were making their way towards the beach, laughing and talking about how much fun they'd have. Especially the good looking females who were planning to enter the swimsuit contest. He was going to miss it all on that one day of the year with no one, yet he was content. Though, missing the bikini contest was a bit of a downside.

Regardless, he made his way into the ghost of an empty town due to everyone flocking down to the beach. After entering the coffee shop, he simply swept a little, a and sat down at his station, wondering about all the fun that was happening...

Nero sighed as he slithered along the shore line. The waves were cold against his skin while the sand heated his underbelly. He had been living in Amber Crust go all of his life and couldn't imagine a better place to live. It may not have been a big city, but it was more welcoming.

Scarlet came out of the water in front of Blitz and landed next to him. She still remembered her talk with Apep and had felt awkward being around Blitz, but she tried her best not to show it.

Denise squeaked as Mary suddenly glomped her, and she stumbled back from it, snickering at her new friend.

 

"How could I not?" She smirked and hugged her back, "You ready to go?"

 

She began wondering what it would be like to finally have someone to go to the festival with. She always either went alone or just stayed at the store and gamed.

Crystal was indeed in town already one thing that was to happy when you are in the forces is you get up at dawn automatically she gotten up dressed in her uniform, asked for the day off which she was kindly given and was in town looking for one of the clothing stores to open so she could actually buy somthing but she was a little early, to early none were open yet. Crystal was sitting at a bench when she noticed the brother sister duo from yesterday and waved them over... "Good morning." She said loudly over at them.

Mary hugged her friend tightly and let go. She loved how the sand felt beneath her feet, and the smell of the ocean and its waves. Nothing felt better. "Yup I am. Wow....the beach is so...beachy. Heehee..uh...so...Denny. You think we'll have a good time here? Maybe find a couple of nice boys?"

@@Drago Ryder, @@Unicorncob, Gemma had arrived very early at the festival site, along with her father who had her paintings in the back of the van; minus, of course, the one that she'd reserved for Malfoy which was back at the house. Gemma's father helped her set her paintings up, then promised to keep an eye on them while she went to sign up for the bikini contest. Gemma had already picked out the bikini she was going to wear. It was dark pink, with diamante edging to it and Gemma had designed it herself. Seeing Malfoy there along with a snake girl, Gemma waved.

 

"Hiya!" she said to the two of them. "I'm here to sign up for the contest."

Apep smiled slightly and wasn't really expecting to make Malfoy nervous. "Thanks." She said. The snake then noticed Gemma and was somewhat curious about her. "Oh, you're signing up for that to? So am I. I may also do the swimming race, but I'm still trying to decide on that." The snake then remembered something and turned her full attention to Gemma. "My name is Apep, by the way. Who are you?"

Blitz glanced at Scarlet and felt something stir in his chest. "Hey, I was wondering where you were. For now, I think I'll just watch. Do you want to... do anything?"

Malfoy waved back at Gemma with a smile as he begun approaching her with Apep.

 

 Before Gemma took the chance to enter Malfoy butted in, in an attempt to lessen any awkward feelings of the two just meeting. "Apep this is Gemma and gemma as you know this is Apep." He said smiling as his tail wagged. "I'm sure you two will get along great, you're both artists so that something in common already."

JR was busy sweeping around the coffee shop, making it clean. He was trying to find something to do since he was all alone this day. He looked outside, somewhat hoping for someone to talk to. He looked left, he looked right. Nothing. It figured. It was the festival, duh. No one's gonna waste their time getting coffee when the bikini contest was about to start soon.

 

"Ugh​...this dumb job.....it's why I got no friends and no one to talk to. I wish I got a break of some kind..."

@@Mentis Soliloquy, In his half sleep state, Ryo just managed to recognise the voice that just shouted. Perking his ears up and looking towards the source if the noise, both Ryo and Shizuko were half surprised. Out of everyone that lives in the town, the one person they know was the one they bumped into along the way. What an amazing coincidence. The pair waved back over and moved closer to her, within talking distance so the didn't have to shout at all.

 

"Good morning to you to. To be honest I didn't expect to run into you here. It's still rather early after all. Though, now that I think about it everyone seems to be moving early to get good spots down at the beach. Mostly sun bathers most likely. Or people looking to get the points with the best view."

 

"Ryo, you're rambling on again."

 

"Oh, umm sorry. I really need to stop doing that. So, how are you? Did you manage to get the supplies you were looking for yesterday?"

Scarlet smiled slightly and sat next to Blitz. "I already signed up for the bikini contest. I'm free for the rest of the day." She said. The hawk was currently wearing a purple two peace that was lined with feathers that she had collected when she had molted. "Why did you accept my invitation to come here?"

 

As he moved, Nero noticed another snake was on the beach. He could tell the snake was female that was around his age. Her scales and markings blended perfectly and to him, she was beautiful. "I'll have to talk to her after the festival." He thought.

"Yes I did get the supplies for my unit thank you so that's all done and I have today off for the Summer thingy on the beach i need to buy something to wear though I don't have any swim wear and I was here waiting for the shops to open and so I thought i'd sit here and enjoy the sun rise." Barbecued food, fruit smoothies, and even sweet baked goods in celebration of the town. "Yeah I agree. The problem with boys is that they aren't your type or whatever. It can really mess you up ya know?"​

Blob overheard what the girls were saying while Kronos passed by them.

 

"Meh," he told Kronos, "Mashmetahbas!"

 

"What?" Kronos asked bewilderingly as he leaned closer to Blob, "Likeable? Nerd? Who? DENISE!? You mean that chick from the video game store?"

 

Blob nodded in reply.

 

"Huh," Kronos replied ponderously, "Well well, looks like there's something in common with us after all." He licked his claw and brushed his mane back with it as he went up to Denise and her friend. "Yo, Denise! It's me, Kronos, remember? You busy?"

@@Drago Ryder, @@Chip Circuit, Gemma smiled at Apep. "Nice to meet you," she said. "So, you're an artist too? Do you have any pictures in the exhibition? I'd love to see them, if you do. I always like to view other artists' work."

 

Gemma excused herself for a moment to quickly sign up for the bikini contest then turned back to the others. "I'll come and cheer you on in the swimming, Apep," she said. "I'm not entering; I don't swim very fast. I like to swim to relax, mostly."

Apep have a lift smile and couldn't help but blush. "Thanks for the support. Unfortunately, I didn't bring anything for the art show. You two could come over to my place after the festival, though." Apep then noticed that another snake was watching her, and was somewhat curious about him.

Blitz turned so that he fully faced Scaret and was stunned by her outfit. The dragon then shook his head to clear his thoughts and sighed. "To be honest, I felt like it was about time for me to get out of the house for a bit. Besides, would you have anyone to talk to if I had said no?"

 "Well, yesterday we didn't really have much in the way of, anything to eat. We were kind of broke so we're going to the store to stock up on some food and to buy breakfast. I don't want to spend another day on an empty stomach." As if on queue, Shizuko's stomach growled audibly as she looked up at her brother. "I get it Shizuko. Hey Bass, since you're not doing anything right now, how about we walk and talk? I'm sure most stores will open up soon so it's okay if you don't exactly want to, but I thought I'd ask." Ryo scratch his head nervously and let out a small awkward laugh, he wasn't use to situations like this at all, thankfully Shizuko kept her mouth shut, she'd usually jump at the chance to embarrass Ryo more.

Malfoy smiled while his tail continued to wag behind him, he was happy to see the two begin to bond so well. "Yeah I'll definitely be there to cheer you Apep if you choose to enter." He reassured still smiling at the two unsure where to keep his attention when either was talking. 

 

"You're place?" He questioned feeling a tad anxious once again. "Um sure, I wouldn't mind coming by to view some art of yours. I actually got to see all of Gemma's yesterday."

Scarlet wasn't exactly expecting Blitz to answer in the way he had, and also noticed a slight, barely noticeable, change in the dragon's demeanor when he looked at her, making a small blush. "To be honest, no." She said. The bird then sat behind Blitz, her back against his. "I also learned what others tend to use the festival for."

Before you say anything, it has nothing to do with you or your friend. Rather, this concerns the festival. You said that there's a concert there, right? Well, I was thinking about performing there. Come to think of it, that's the whole reason I came here in the first place. So, where do I go to, you know, book myself to perform?"
