Malfoy finally felt the coils of Apep come off from around him as she was lightly red in the face. He blinked blankly a few times and nodded to the snake flashing a small smile. "Yeah go ahead, you do what you got to do." He said before looking around him. "While you do that I should find J.R. It was nice meeting you Nero."

 

With that Malfoy walked from the crowds to find J.R. sat in the sand closer to the shore. He approached the cat from behind and cleared his throat slightly. "There you are J." @@J.R.,

The snow cat looked up at him, "Sup?" He grinned, "Sorry if it seemed like I left for no reason. I just didn't wanna interrupt your uh...special moment. But whatcha doin all the way over here by me, man? You were doing so well over there with her. I mean, I'm perfectly fine being on my own ya know."

Denise sat up and let Mary brush the sand from her hair, her tail flicking softly. "Thanks."

 

She blinked as she took the spare towel and set it up underneath her. "Thanks... yeah, I'm surprised I didn't catch fire."

 

She glanced over to where the two girls stood for the contest, and looked back at Mary. "So, how do you think you did?"

Mary blushed and moved some hair out of her eyes. "Me? Oh I don't really know. I don't really care much either. It's just fun to be up there and face my fears of being on stage and showing off. It felt amazing! Without you I would have never done that. Thanks Denny!"

She raised her paw and fistbumped Mary. "But, happy I could help. You've got a good bod for swimsuits too, gotta say." She grinned, flicking her tail softly.

Apep watched Malfoy leave before slithering towards where she had seen the dragon walk off. Something was off about him, almost like the rabbit, but it wasn't exactly the same. While the latter seemed cold, the other was familiar in an unknown way. Of course, she hadn't gotten that good of a look at him, so she was curious.

 

Blitz sighed as he walked into the center of the cove and could feel the shallow water beat against his scales. "What are they going to do next?" He thought to himself. "Perhaps they'll have an eating contest. Maybe a dance." The thought of him dancing with anyone made a slight smile spread across his face.

Nero nodded as he watched Malfoy leave and smiled. "Same to you, my friend." The snake then watched Apep leave, and decided to follow her out of curiosity. He didn't know if she wanted him to come, but he figured he could help her if anything went wrong.

 

Nero wasn't the only one who noticed Apep leaving, though. Scarlet could see the two snakes heading in the same direction Blitz had went and decided to get an aerial view, flying into the air the air high enough to not be seen, but still see what was going on.

Apep had noticed that Nero was following her, but she didn't really mind. If her predictions on what would happen were right, she had nothing to worry about. It didn't take her long to find the same cove Blitz was in, being careful not to disturb anything other than the sand. It took the snake even less time to notice the dragon.

 

Blitz noticed a shift in the temperature of the air and didn't turn to look at Apep immediately. Instead, he simply walked out of the water and sat in a chair that had seen better days. He then glanced at the snake and motioned towards an area of sand next to him. "Feel free to join me if you want." He said, a near crushing feeling in his chest. To be honest, he didn't want this to happen unless it was on his terms, but knew that his luck never favored him.

Nero's eyes widened as he noticed Blitz and hid behind a rock on the outskirts of the cove. He had to admit, the area itself was beautiful, having been untouched by anyone, aside from the dragon of course. From his current position, he couldn't really hear what they would say, but figured that he could just watch in silence and hope that Apep would be ok.

 

Scarlet hovered in the air above the cove, watching the two reptiles.If one proved hostile to the other, then she would intervene.

JR scoffed, "Pfft. Man, that's subjective. But thanks for the concern I suppose." ​He scratched his own head to get the sand out of his face. It was really dry and hot that day. ​"Like I said, though. I'm fine, dude. You really don't have to worry about me like that. There's really nothing that I have to worry about. Had fun during the swimming contest, so today is a good day." ​He closed his eyes, and laid back on his towel. ​"Better than waiting tables and smelling like sweaty coffee beans from 9 to 5."

 

 

"Huh? Me?" Denise blinked, tilting her head, then smirked, "Hey, you're the one who dragged me up there!" She snickered.

 

She raised her paw and fistbumped Mary. "But, happy I could help. You've got a good bod for swimsuits too, gotta say." She grinned, flicking her tail softly.

She fistbumped back, and couldn't help but blush at the compliment. It was nice to finally get that from someone who really meant it for what it was worth instead of shamelessly trying to compliment people. ​"Thanks you look great for swimwear too ya know. You really should do it more often."

Apep slowly slithered forward and stared at Blitz, not really recognizing him at first. When she was close enough, the snake's eyes widened in surprise and felt her entire body shake. "It's you."

 

Blitz gave a sigh and simply smiled, not really caring what happened at this point. This was a moment he had anticipated and he wasn't about to screw it up. Not this time."Yeah. It's been a while since we last saw each other, but this isn't some mirage. Your brother is sitting in a chair right next to you in a cove that we would always come to when we were younger."

 

Apep felt a chill go down her spine, along with a trace of anger. The snake then wrapped a few coils around her brother's midsection, restraining his arms and wings. She then brought him close to her face and tightened her grip on him.

Nero watched in silence as Apep and the dragon spoke, but wasn't expecting Apep to use her coils on him. As for the dragon, he didn't look scared at all.

 

Scarlet didn't know what she was expecting out of the two reptiles talking, but it certainly wasn't this. She didn't land, though. She knew Blitz could probably handle this. She did move closer to the two, though.

Blitz looked Apep dead in the eyes and frowned. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you." He said. "After everything that happened all of those years ago, I just couldn't take being that dragon anymore." The dragon could see that his sister wasn't satisfied yet, so he knew he needed to tell the whole story. "On the night I left, I gained my flame. Normally, dragons get that a few years after birth and learn how to use it then. I was 10 when that happened. I thought I was a disappointment to our parents and was bullied through your school. Whoever heard of a dragon without a flame?" The dragon then sighed as he looked into the sky. "That was until I actually used my flame for the first time. I remember being in a nightmare. I thrashed around in the bed. You and our parents came in, and as I woke up, I burned most of what was in my room. I was scared that I had hurt any of you and I didn't want to hurt anyone else, so I fled into the mountains to the west. I lived there for the nine years following that day, continuing my education in secret and returning last year."

 

Apep's coils loosened and the snake couldn't help but feel a tear come to her eye. "I should be the one apologizing. I've resented and forgot about you for all of these years." She said. The snake then brought Blitz into a hug and closed her eyes. "You honestly didn't hurt anyone that night. We were scared that we had lost you more than anything." A question then popped into the snake's mind, but she didn't make any attempt to move or ask it, for fear of ruining the moment they were sharing.

Malfoy's stomach growled as he sat on the sand and he looked to J.r. "Well if that's how you feel bro but if you want company come find me, otherwise I need to get something to eat before my stomach grows teeth and eats me." He said jokingly as he stood up from the sand and brushed himself off. "But just because you are content with life doesn't mean change will be a negative impact on your life." 

 

The wolf walked toward the food stands, he licked his lips as he took a whiff of the scent of food on the air.

Ocean nodded as Nero told her about what had taken place. "Wow..." she muttered to herself and continued watching, flicking her tail and looking as the hawk confronted the rabbit. Why would she laugh at them, she thought. The two girls were very pretty, no less than the other competitors.

 

Savannah was dumbfounded by what had just happened. She hadn't quite caught it, but now there seemed to be something major happening with the stern bunny judge. She growled - she had thought right from the start that there was something a slight bit off.

In fact it felt even less crowded than earlier 'Guess some people saw what they wanted and left. You could smell it in the air. Well, less people around just give us more space. Can't complain.' "We set up here, good view of the beach and since we're relatively alone we have unobscured sunlight. If you want to go and grab your things and meet us back here, we can relax."

"Right, I'll go get my things then, can come back so we can chill here." She gave then a wave and headed off back down the beach to where she had set up her towel.

 

She returned about five minutes later with her towel and a satchel she'd not bought a beach bag so she just brought one of her pieces of kit, Crystal walked over to lay her towel out next to Ryo's and she laid back down on her back. "Well this is a good spot you've got that local knowledge over me."

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "I wouldn't call it local knowledge. I just made a guess that his may be a decent spot. I was right." Ryo took a seat on his own towel and stretched out, relaxing in the sun. "It does feel good to finally have a break from work. Even if all I'm doing is lying on a beach and talking with a friends, it's nice to get outside once in a while. Though moments like this make me grateful and upset that I don't have fur. It's good because I can cool off a lot easier, bad because I have to take care that my skin doesn't burn. Minor complaints really."

 

Shizuko however didn't want to relax, instead she got out a small plastic shovel she had brought in the bag and started digging in the sand a short distance away from the two as to not annoy them. Her plan was simple. Make a sand castle without using a model bucket. Harder than it looks, but she was going to enjoy the challenge.

 

"Bass? Since we have the time, would you mind telling me a bit more about yourself? I don't really know anything about you besides your name and job."

"Sure I'll tell you some of my tail I suppose, well I'll start with some basics I am Crystal pony as you can tell, I'm 25 and I am a musician actually, I can play a few instruments and I've been told I can sing aswell if you want to hear any of my stuff you are more than welcome I have quite a range of songs I did some duos with another friend of mine aswell. Like you I was living from contract to contract, song to song I never made much money and soon enough after my initial start I was broke I had few choices so I went to the one place who would give me food and I could make money not to mention there has not been a war in a century so I signed up..."

 

Crystal adjusted herself onto her tummy before resuming. "We are basically police these days, and well I've been stationed here for the foreseeable future so I suppose we'll be moving into a building or the police station soon enough if this is a permanent thing. So basically I was a small scale artist until reality caught me up, now I am a specialist in the army, keeps me fed."

After a few seconds, Apep looked at her brother in the he and decided that she had to ask this now. Otherwise, she might not understand what truely happened on the night he left. "Can I see your flame?" She asked. "I know it probably caused you a lot of problems, but you never hurt anyone."

 

Blitz gave a light sigh and moved away from the snake, before turning to face the horizon. He could see Scarlet and another snake, but they were far enough away to not be hit by his flame. "I'll try, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work." He said. The dragon then closed his eyes as a series of muscle contraction rippled across his body, creating heat and opening something within him that he had promised to never use again . After a few seconds, Blitz opened his mouth, making a high pitched screech respond through the air, and swung his head up. He then fired a shaped charge of oxygen/acetylene fueled flame into the air at an angle. When it was far enough away, it exploded into what looked like a nebulae of light and fire that could be seen from the festival.

Nero and Scarlet were both surprised when they saw Blitz launch what was essentially a more dangerous version of a firework into the sky and turned their attention to Apep, and the hawk landed behind the two. "That was beautiful, Blitz." She said, smiling slightly. "If I had known Apep would've had that effect on you, I would've had you two meet yesterday."

 

Nero just simply watched from his current position and was amazed by what he had just seen. He had known about dragons being able to breath fire, but that was something else entirely.
