Will the Mane 6 be the protagonists of a future two-parter again

The entire mane 6? Probably not. It seems that the only two parter remaining is the season 6 finale and I feel like that is going to focus quite heavily on Starlight and Flurry Heart, with Starlight being the prime protagonist. It is something that I won't be bothered by if Starlight gets the proper development over the season, which she kinda hasn't so far.

I did say future two-parter. Doesn't mean it has to be the season 6 finale. I guess I'm just feeling nostalgic.

Yes. FREAKING OH GOD YES. Goddamnit, a two parter should touch on all six and celebrate them as friends and as a group while examining how they've grown: Now, its held up as a freaking Miracle if it even includes them all (like how people raved about the cutie mark map "OMG IT HAS EVERYONE IN IT AS A GROUP INSTEAD OF JUST TWILIGHT!"
No. Screw that. That should not be something we cheer about like its winning the lottery, that is WHAT WE SHOULD FREAKING EXPECT.

Honestly I think the mane 6 lost their two parter protagonists rights when the elements of harmony were returned to the tree.

Agreed here. this is a big problem currently: They've had twilight advance so much in magical studies (along with becoming an alicorn) that there's honestly nothing that the other 5 can contribute to a situation that twilight couldn't do on her own easily, apart from really bad Writers fiat (like her randomly freezing up in princess twilight sparkle).

Like Look at power ponies for example: The other 5 got Super powers far beyond what they can normally do: Twilight's super power NERFED her (Matter horn was less than what twilight can do on a normal day to day basis). And yet the others were still just equal with her even after twilight was nerfed.
This should tell you something about the problem of making the others relevant in a two parter/adventure scenario, given how they don't have super powers normally and twilight is usually even stronger than she was in that episode :P

So unless you have a set of "instant win" macguffins and a villain that's outright immune to twilight, the other five aren't going to be doing much. (or remove twilights' magic outright like in The cutie mark map)

It's crazy but maybe one of the mane 6 will be the antagonist.  But that's very far fetched.

LOLWUT
 XD

The only one of the mane six that I can see the staff ever doing that with would be twilight or Starlight; past that, the other 5 are barely even remembered, let alone having a two parter built around them going evil-- they don't even Delve into their psyche or motivations normally, let alone trying to dissect what would make them go evil.

(On that note, its one reason I liked the nightmarity arc so much in the IDW comics: It was utterly refreshing to see them do that with another of the six,)

Twilight has always been the star of two-parters (except the Crystalling) so I would not say there is no again. They might get a bigger roles like in Return of Harmony Part 1 again but they will not be the main stars I do not think. At least for a while.

They could do it like in shonen manga where the mainest of the main protagonists fights the big boss while his friends deal with the less powerful minions.

They can’t do it cause time, money, and insert a slice-o-lifer’s nonchalant opinion.

P.S: If Starlight becomes the mane attraction, there’s gonna be dust to pay. Despite conspicuous belief, people don’t tune in to watch a writer’s pet strutting her flank for half an hour. Now if you were talking about a certain dragonette, one might even reconsider the validity of your opinion, at least as far as Bronies are concerned. Does this mean that they will prioritize Mane 5? Heck no. It just means people like me will have more shit to burn.

Mark my words, the season finale will be about starlight saving the day, ala friendship games with sunset :P

Sunset seems to have been viewed favorably for taking center stage in the EQG universe. (not something I personally like), but I'm just pointing out that starlight's counterpart did that and gained a alot of--or at least some very loud ones if its not that there's alot of them-- fans from it)

I am fully aware of Sunset’s apparent popularity. But I have been looking at Ember’s fan content and comparing the frequency per month to Starlight and Sunset on a few sited here and there. By the way this dragon is flying, she’s gonna have more content by the end of this summer than Starlight had in more than a year, and Sunset ain’t doing so hot either compared to Mane 6. Now I know this is a really iffy way of reinforcing my statements, but it’s a start.

Forums and fans sites never tell you the big picture, ever. We will always be the vocal minority with our own waifus and convictions, and it creates this circle where fans with same convictions are drawn to them while many other fans will give them a wide berth. Though I must admit that this isn’t that much of a problem among Bronies, at least when it comes to moderation. Still, what remains is the silent majority that is quite hard to read, and I want to force its collective mouth wide open. If Starlight Shimmer and lots of mundane slice episodes is what they want, then I shall have no further objections.
