Every July 4th I've experienced throughout my life hold some awesome memories for me. Family cookouts, fireworks, the Coke Zero 400....I can't wait for this upcoming Independence Day! :yay:

During my childhood (high school years and before) I spent almost every 4th of July with my grandparents. My grandma and I would go out to the park and watch the fireworks. Those were great memories!

For a couple of years after, I spent 4th of July with my best friend of the time (who became my girlfriend and then ex, mentioning because the second year, we were actually exes and she still invited me). I had a lot of fun. Her family is so different from mine. My family is very conservative (not in the political sense, it is reversed in that sense lol). We don't throw parties. We don't shoot off our own fireworks. We don't drink. We don't really do anything. Her family was (is?) different. Of course, I didn't drink. However, I felt a strange sense of comfort with her family, even though pretty much any time I'm around someone else drinking I will instantly feel uncomfortable. And the thought of parties makes me uncomfortable, too.

I remember the last year her and I rode a four-wheeler together and that was nothing I would have ever done on my own. Lol. She took me out of my comfort zone.

*sigh* Why did things have to go the way they did? Oh well.

I have no recollection of doing anything special for the 4th of July since.

best One I had was last year. I was with my brother, two of my childhood friends, and the mom of one of them at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. We spoke, drank, and I was MIA for about three hours climbing the mountain on foot :D

Last year, when I was still a Private E-2. We were standing in formation and getting yelled at by our sergeant, but we weren't paying attention to him at all. We were all watching the fireworks show that was going on behind him. He didn't notice until like ten minutes in. xD

Not the favorite but it's memorable. I got a really bad burn from my chest to my left arm, when lighting up a firework. It was painful to move or do anything at all with that side for about two weeks. (note to self..do not wear long sleeves)
