The scariest thing I'd ever experienced?

Out in Arizona every October we have a festival, a few miles west from Phoenix called "Fear Farm"... that place has so many mind fucks, jump scares, and other nopes... I went there when I was 14 not expecting it to be bad... I was terrified just in the first 10 minutes... no the first two minutes... Now a days I could probably do it with a buddy, and not be too terrified, but still I remember that night almost a little too perfectly...

Now for actual danger experiences... lets see... oh how bout the time my house caught fire at 3 in the morning while me, and the rest of my family was dead asleep... If not for my mother waking up noticing the flames, I probably wouldn't be here typing this.

Just so you are aware, I have altered this thread's title to give it more proper context.

Scariest experience? Hmm...

I've been hit by cars quite a few times.... Never injured, though. First two times were scary, until I got back up, kicked off the bumper of the car that hit me (because they weren't paying attention to where they were going), and continued on my way. This happened while I was cycling, by the way. And that wasn't really fear, just an adrenaline rush.

I guess for my real fear experience... Hmm... Guns have been pointed at me, but I've always kept cool... Mostly because I know that the person pointing the gun doesn't have the balls to pull the trigger, or that the safety is on, in which case I just walk up to them and grab then gun (this has happened like 5 times... my luck kinda sucks. But hey! Free gun!). Hmm... I've never been truly scared before. At least not that I remember. And judging by other peoples' experiences, I think I'd probably remember anything that was truly fearful.

Meh...

Not counting almost dying in a car accident this last march? When I was a teen, I was riding my bike. I accidentally rode out from my street, onto one of the major roads in my town. An air-horn blared. I am not exaggerating. I could have reached out and ran my hand across the front of the 18 wheeler that almost KILLED me. I shot across the front of it and felt the wind of it's passing as it missed me by just inches. I almost messed myself. I got off the bike and walked it home. I didn't ride it again for a few weeks.

I suppose it would be the time my 2 Highschool friends and I were suddenly ambushed by about 15 Guys while we were walking the streets (They looked like they were freshman, and at the time the three of us were Seniors). We fought pretty hard at first, taking some of them down before the rest of them decided  fighting fair wasn't working and starting pelting us with rocks. We ran away like cowards and despite filing a police report, they never caught them. I'm still not sure why they attacked us but it was one of the scariest moments of my life.

At summer camp. A buddy and I are walking down a trail from our campsite to the mess hall for breakfast. There's a sudden rustling of bushes, and a very large, very low-to-the-ground, very feline shape runs away from us from about two feet away.

We look at each other, confirm that what we both saw was, in fact, a cougar, and ran screaming.

After our heart attacks we came to the conclusion that it was a small one, probably still quite young, and was likely more scared of us than we were of it, but still, frickin' cougar!

Repeatedly falling asleep while driving and being woken up by the rumble strip.

Watching someone lose their mind in the throes of a severe migraine.

Drug-induced existential panic (a bad trip).

Hallucinatory sleep paralysis.
