Did you get accepted as a beta tester and what class are you going to play as?

I'm planning on being a archer or maybe a twin daggers. My race is going to be the Khajiit.

Nah, I'm not going to participate as a beta tester. And I plan to play as a wood elf, and will be doing archery. Mainly because wood elves are the best archers.

Seems like we will be on the same alliance. Wood elfs may be the best archers, but Khajiit are legendary thieves. Hopefully we will meet on the battlefield.

So, there is 3 alliances; The Daggerfall Covenant, The Aldmeri Dominion and The Ebonheart Pact.

The Daggerfall Covenant consists of; Orcs, Redguards and Bretons.

The Aldmeri Dominion consists of; High Elves, Khajiit and Wood Elves.

Lastly, The Ebonheart Pact consists of; Nords, Argonians and Dark Elves.

Each have their sort of 'class.'

For example; The Aldmeri Dominion owns 2 races which are excellent in stealth, so if you're into low profile approaches, go for them.

The Ebonheart Pact is a weird one, but I believe they're more of mages. So if you're into magic, become them.

And The Daggerfall Covenant owns Orcs, Redguards and Bretons, so they'd definitely be the swords-and-axe kind of class.

I'm gonna hope to get into the beta. If it's anything like the whole series turned out, then i'll definitely get my hands on this one. I'll either be a Nord in the Ebonheart Pact, or a Redguard in the Daggerfall Covenant.

I will, like my Skyrim Character, be a bloodthristy orc warrior with a big ol hammer to smash the tiny baby animals into a fine paste.

That is, once I start the game. Nothing beats charging in and smashing stuff!

I'm both looking forward and very skeptical of this game, mainly due to it's MMO nature. The combat in the Elder Scrolls games was never great anyway and I'll be disappointed if it gets in the way of a good experience. I felt Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were all to do with exploration and the world itself, how they'll manage to pull it off is a mystery to me.

I will try to get into the beta as I do with a lot of games, but I'm not sure if I will like "Skyrim with more people!" if that ends up happening.

That said, the multiple alliances seems like an awesome idea and I don't think they will be using a subscription model, which is good because the game won't last long if they use one

I'm not too sure on this information, but apparently The Elder Scrolls: Online is set 10 years after the events of Skyrim. Will this mean that there is still the war between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks?

Also, I saw some concept art of the game, and it looks fantastic! For a game that can support 100 people in battle at once, in such a huge landscape, it still has wonderful graphics and detail. The designers have really gone 'all-out' with this one.

Lastly, the story behind it is: The daedric prince (I cannot remember his name, sorry.) has opened a gateway from Oblivion to Tamriel, and is now marching his army of demons and creatures into the Imperial City. (the capital of Tamriel.) Now, the 3 factions are fighting to the Imperial City, not just so that they can defeat the demonic creatures, but so their king/queen can behold the Ruby Throne.

I'm going to play this game, hoping the gameplay is good and that Zenimax won't butcher the lore. This latter wish is something that is more or less inevitable though, considering that not even Bethesda sticks to their own lore.

For one, I'm a bit doubtful of the merit in making a Nord king the leader of the Ebonheart Pact, given the Tribunal of Morrowind's power and combined ego that was large enough to eventually go toe to toe with Talos. It was the Tribunal who defeated the Akaviri after all.

Also, realistically, the Argonians probably wouldn't ally themselves with anyone, least of all the Dunmer. It would be like Africans willingly deciding en masse to fight for the Confederacy. Black Marsh has a history of isolationism, and it not only granted them autonomy when Cyrodiil couldn't defeat them, but later on during the Oblivion Crisis, they successfully fought off Dagon's armies to the point where Dagon had to retreat from Black Marsh entirely. That being said, as long as Black Marsh is left alone, the Argonians are pretty passive, excluding of course the Red Year invasion of Morrowind, being a revenge war. In reality, the Argonians would probably bide their time and wait for Morrowind to be flooded by Daedra and then go in on a drug-fueled vengeance crusade to kill whatever M. Bal didn't kill/torture/rape.

The website also screws up the Aldmeri Dominion to a degree. For one, it says that the Altmer were the descendants of settlers from Old Aldmeris. First of all, the ancient Aldmer land was Old Ehlnofey, known also as Aldmeris. Secondly, that place is mythological and never actually existed. The emergence of the Aldmeri Dominion is also suspect in my opinion. Traditionally, the Dominion is known to have been formed during the fall of the Camoran Dynasty in Valenwood (a faction the game ignores), the actual date of the Dominion's rise has not been provided prior to ESO. What is known, however, is that Valenwood's power waned dramatically around 2E 430 in which the 1st Empire of Cyrodiil fell. The power vacuum was replaced by the Thalmor who brought Valenwood into the Dominion. That being said, I find it hard to believe that it would take 150 years for the Dominion to rise and be formed circa 2E 580.

The game is set in 2E 582. Skyrim takes place in 4E 201, 948 years before Skyrim.

Lastly, The Ebonheart Pact consists of; Nords, Argonians and Dark Elves.

I find that very hard to believe based on the Nords featured in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, I suppose since this is in all of Tamriel it could be different.

Although the fact that Nords are being put into the mage class instead of the Bretons is beyond me.

Oh, and I think you might be referencing Mehrunes Dagon? If not, I know the others as well.

It's a ridiculous thing to consider, given Nords have been invading Resdayn/Resdaynia/Morrowind since the First Era, and the Dunmer have enslaved the Argonians for at least as long.

Also the Daedric Prince invading Mundus is Molag Bal, the Prince of Rape.

They actually stated that the The Ebonheart Pact is an 'uneasy' alliance. For basically what you just said. :P

Also, you seem to know a lot of The Elder Scrolls, I'm guessing you're a big fan?

Yeah, that's what I was saying. I'm wondering why Nords in the Ebonheart Pact whilst Bretons are in the Daggerfall Covenant. I know Daggerfall is in High Rock, but still...

Wasn't Molag Bal the guy in that haunted house? When you go to capture that guy, you receive Molag Bal's mace..or something? I can't remember, I haven't played Skyrim in a few months.

Yes. He was also referenced a lot in the Dawnguard DLC as making the vampires what they are, and for what Iron Hugo said earlier...

Because of this, I am interested in facing him.

Generally speaking, the Nords have more in common with the Bretons than they do with the Dunmer and Argonians. The Nords and Heartland men founded the Empire while the Bretons were being ruled by the Altmer. The only Bretons who aided in the Alessian revolt were Reachmen from Falkreath.

Still, the Nords hate the Orcs more than they'll ever hate the Dunmer, and during the War of Righteousness, the Nords fought alongside Altmer of Clan Direnni against the Alessians of High Rock.

It does make more sense that the Nords would want to rebuild the Empire, as they have always played a large role in Cyrodiil's wars.

I'm a mega TES fanboy and lore geek. XD

I used to frequent the Bethsoft.com lore forums along with a great site called The Imperial Library, where you can find every ingame book along with a multitude of out-of-game works written by current and past Bethesda writers.

M. Bal actually created the vampires by raping a girl to death so that her ghost was tainted. The ghost then raped a bunch of men, and she gave birth to the first generation of vampires.

The Dwarves disappeared at the Battle of Red Mountain in the First Era. I don't think we'll ever see them unless a game takes place before they went poof.
