Although this is subjective. Is 'subjective' a "big word"? to some people probably. People who have high-functioning autism tend to speak more formally and with "bigger" words without always trying to impress others or trying to "sound smart" though it may come across as pretentious and off-putting to others.

 

I guess it depends on who you're speaking to. But in general it's best to speak plain, direct, and simple
