Think we'll ever get answers?

To things like alicorn history, why there's a fossilized dragon egg on the Pie farm, and if it has significance to Spike, where Starswirl is, origins of the ToH, zebra back story, why Fluttershy has a freaky knowledge of sewing, Sunset being canon in FiM, etc.

If the series continued as it has, it will eventually cover at least most of these things, but the longer the series continues on, the quality of it will also degrade significantly.

For most of the things, I think not. They weren't important enough to explain right away, and continuity in the series has always been loose at best. I guess Flurry Heart's significance has a chance of being explained, but not much else. Hell, I'm even beginning to give up hope we'll ever learn why Starlight is so absurdly powerful she can fight evenly with an alicorn who is essentially magic incarnate.

You can't answer all the questions. If all the questions will be answered by the end, the fandom will look less and less attractive, because a fandom lives out of fanon and headcanon, so that we can make fanfics and RPs and art and fan speculation, etc.

Maybe some will be answered, but not everything.

No, definitely not all of them. Though some of them should get answered in the future I'm pretty sure, like the history of alicorns and stuff like that is simple and something we have to get to know, atleast in my perspective.

I think that the movie was originally set to explain both starswirl and the history of starswirl, since the original script that sony pictures panned had an alicorn as the villain, lots of other alicorns as supporting characters, and starswirl appearing to announce the threat to celestia.

Since that script got savaged by the people giving hasbro feedback, I think the movie might be drastically different from the original script ideas.

As for Holder's boulder, that's ONLY fan conjecture that its a dragon egg. It might still just be a rock that fans are assuming to be an egg, despite having been found in a dragon's nest. Hell, it might have been an egg shaped rock that a dragon was sitting on out of sadness over losing its child or something to cope/deny reality.

I read somewhere* about how the creators of Adventure Time deal with things like this. Everytime they leave a plot thread hanging, they'll write it down on a big list. When they're planning new episodes, they take a look at that list and pick what they like and make a story out of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the MLP team also have a similar list lying around, containing most of the things you've mentioned. Although to be honest, if they do have a list they don't look at it very often, as we still have age-old unexplained stuff that the show ignores. The comics and books don't, thankfully.

So, to answer your question: the show might address those things or it might not. The latter is more likely.

* "Somewhere" is a credible source, trust me.

When it comes to shows and movies, there are some things that just won't be answered.

I find it unrealistic to expect the show to wrap up every single loose thread sense the first season, because there generally isn't enough time to do so, unless the writers sacrifice a lot in order to do so, and I don't find it to be worth it.

almost every tv show ever has had "loose threads"... this is so it can be tied into other things, keeping it "alive".

so some things we should not know, as they would ruin the "fun", but it is up to those involved to deside what to leave open, and what to spell out for us.

The unasked questions are what bother me, not the answers. The answers give me clarity. Silence is in its self an answer, so ask! To not ask is to deny the existence of said question, and leaves you with just "what if".

My question is "Why" do we need these questions answered? It's not like they are currently important to the plot (like when we saw the Changeling flying to the Crystal Empire at the end of the Season 6 opening). Sure, we could have a "Zecora" episode and that could answer the Zebra culture question (much like we had a Griffon episode and a Dragon episode to illustrate those cultures) but overall none of these questions need to be answered, at all.

Holder's Boulder is CONFIRMED to be an egg, brah! :P They said it in the episode.

I don't think most of those things particularly matter, so no. Maybe some Alicorn history down the line, but probably not much, because it's ultimately not that important. Might be explored in the comics, though, because those things actually have some willingness to take risks.
