Are there anywhere an atlantis or el dorado in equestria?

They could introduce the atlantis of equestria in the upcoming movie with the sea ponies. And the el dorado is maybe hidden somewhere until somepony discover it.

What do you think about it?

Well I would imagine the "seaponies" don't live in clams, so they have to have some sort of city... so an Atlantis of sorts is to be expected. And you could argue the the Crystal Empire is their version of "El Dorado".

~No profound statement needed~

I'm sure such places exist somewhere throughout Equestria but they are most likely well hidden to prevent none but the most treasure hungry pony from finding them. I think Daring Do may have found such places during her adventures.

That, and its main villain ended up crystallizing and exploding, just like in the Disney movie.

Yeah. They can say what they will about King Sombra, but at least he had more lines than crystallized Rourke, and had bigger ambitions than selling the Crystal Heart... which he wouldn't obviously.

Atlantis was land until it went boom. It is associated more with the perytons than sea creatures. Also, sea ponies live in the sunken city of R’neigh as was written by Mad Arabian in Nightmarenomicon.

The stars are almost right.

Yeah.

In terms of motivation:

Wanting to both keep an all-powerful artifact from being used against you and eventually convert it into a doomsday weapon > just trying to make a quick buck off of it.

Yeah. Much better. Rourke had such a limited motivation. He could have had his own country.

Well, there are dragons, manticores, giant bears, magic, floating cities, etc; It's obvious there's and El Dorado-like city around :dash: (The Atlantis one is pretty much covered in the upcoming movie :orly:)

We have yet to see an El Dorado-like city in the show, though. it would probable make a good "gold madness" plot. All the ponies start getting jealous of each other over how much gold the other one has.

Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise. Loathsomeness waits and dreams in the deep, and decay spreads over tottering cities of equines. The Great Old Ones had come from the stars, their shapes free from confines of flesh and blood. When the stars are right They rise, unbound by death and mortal concepts of good and evil.

Yet still, the Great Old Ones are but harbingers of even greater horrors. Our Lord Colthulhu may be bound to the whims of cosmic cycles, but the Black Goat is not. It would be lovely to show some particular individuals how a real magical cult handles things. All premium members get a pet shoggoth!

On the note of Coltlantis, I kind of wish they'd touch on the coltlantis they showed in the comics again.

I think an el dorado city would be best left to a Daring do plotline (Book) or episode, as She's the go to "Aztec civilization" character, with aztec culture seeming to be treated as an old ruin style civilization rather than a thriving/still existing one.
