Yes they are made for hugs and cuddles and do that very often.

But i would give them EXTREME long and EXTREME intesive hugs and cuddles because i would need it.

And which brony would'n hug our ponies very long and intensive?

Well, since bronies likely outnumber ponies several to one, I'd assume that the ponies would have a very small chance of survival.

However, if I were able to get my hands on one pony and run off from the group... I'd have to resist the urge to snuggle her until the Shofixti come home and respect her personal space. They're sentient too, y'know.

I don't think they could survive all that hugging and cuddling if it happened en masse. Bronies would need to realize they are not plushies and have their own thoughts, wishes and preferences... which includes giving and getting hugs and how often.

Plus what an awful way to go. To survive Nightmare Moon, Chrysalis, Tirek, Bugbear attacks and Celestia knows what else... only to be drowned in a sea of hugs and affection.

I bet Applejack and Rainbow Dash would come close. At the very least they'd try to walk it off like nothing happened.

Fluttershy... everypony better ask permission first.
