New intro for season 7?

I think the new logo is very likely. I think they might do another version of the song but no radical change. I don't know what charcaters could be added to the info, just because charcater is important does not mean they make to the intro since it is bacically for ponies who live in ponyville and Celestia and Luna. Cadence and Shining Armor are not included for excample. So I do not feel Trixie and Thorax would be.

Well, they did change the opening a little after Twilight became an Alicorn.  Off hand, I can't think of another show where they made major changes to the opening. The Simpsons have been using the same opening for going on 30 years, for instance.

 

I agree, they make major changes to the opening, it means a MAJOR remake of the show, maybe even a reimagining.

 

There are 2 big cons in January.  If there are going to be changes, I'd look for an announcement in 1 of them

I think the biggest thing is changing the song. It's been seven seasons. It literally has stayed the same. I'd even be okay if they just recycled EQG 1 intro theme. After five seasons of the same intro I skipped the intro most of the time in season six. I usually only skip anime introns since there like a minute long.

I think I figured out from were this rumor may come...

It is not a secret they are experimenting with ToonBoom for the animation cycle of the tv show (based on the experience gained from the movie).

They should not change yet fully for the episodes themselves [as season 7 is being done with the classical FLASH); but maybe they are recreating the opening with the new tools.

They'll probably just ad Thorax and the changlings. Maybe Ember will stand next to Spike. Also Starlgiht will probably be next to Trixie. Seriously they've only added minor changes to the intro animation over the seasons.

 

I honestly find that kinda doubtful, given that the changelings, Ember, and Trixie are even less of recurring characters than Starlight, who's pretty much on her way to becoming, if not already, a regular.

I think the opening theme should remain the same. No new song. The logo should stay the same too.

Will starting with season four they added small changes each season. At the very least Trixie might show up. They might bring her back more often now since she's Starlights friend.

I mean, they didn't even bother to change the intro for season 4 after Twilight got wings, so I'm kinda skeptical. I've been hoping for a different theme for a long time, but all they've ever done is tack a bit on the end, so I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

It is very unlikely that they would change the intro, since it has remained mostly the same. I would like to see a new intro though, it would be cool.

I hope that Hasbro will not change the old intro. Adding a few characters is fine, it doesn't change the entire theme of the intro.
