How you became a fan of My Little Pony I used to watch it with my niece when she was younger. It took some time, but the characters grew on me as the years went by. Greetings. I joined this forum partly because of a re-kindling of interest in the show due to Season 7 being around the corner. Also, there's the movie coming later this year. It's pretty lonely being a fan when I nobody in my area seems to share my fondness for it. In fact, this is the first time I've ever reached out to other fans. It took five years, but I've decided to take the plunge. During my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and playing music. Still a novice with that last one. One of my long term goals in life is to become a filmmaker. I have worked in small independent productions for three years now, and my next short term goal is to write and direct a film of my own. I got into this fandom unintentionally. I used to watch this show all the time with my niece. She was the person who introduced me, believe it or not. This was in mid-2012. She thinks it's funny that I still like the show (she's "grown out of it" by this point), but I can't say that I blame her. My other interests are nothing like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in terms of tone or style. I'm into dark and brooding stuff. Oddly enough, I don't have a favorite pony. I like all of them equally, and they have their own unique personalities to help them stand out. They are all different from each other, but in a positive way. Non-related fandoms/obsessions that my spare time revolves around: - Godzilla (includes other giant monsters, but Godzilla will always be the greatest). He is my spirit animal. - Dark Souls (includes Bloodborne). - H.P. Lovecraft and weird fiction in general. - The New York Mets (Please don't laugh...) - I'm also a metal head and a gorehound. I saw Predator (1987) at the age of 7, and it changed my life forever. So if you knew me personally, you probably would not expect me to have any degree of attachment to a show featuring talking cartoon ponies. But I do. I'm into a lot of dark and brooding stuff, in fact I've joked about that all the time, that my interest in MLP is quite odd compared to my others. Plus, I love metal music, I'm an H.P. Lovecraft fan and I'm a big horror nut. So, it sounds like you and I will get along quite well, lol. As for My Little Pony being on the opposite end of the spectrum from other things you like, I watch/read Game of Thrones. I don't think there's anything farther away from our innocent pastel ponies. And whoever showed you Predator at age seven wasn't thinking that day. Lol. I'm 13 and I haven't been able to get my hands on it.
