Should CMC start taking in more ponies?

Should it be time for the CMC to gain members, like Diamond Tiara, who could lead them in a more stable direction (if no pony needs issues with cutie mark problems), Silver Spoon, Tender Taps, Twist, or some other ponies, Maybe even Spike who can lend his assistant skills. It's been just the CMC 3 from Day 1, so should they look into getting more members?

Nah. I feel like adding more members would feel out of place. Like the bond between the three is just right, and adding more members may throw something off. What I don't know, but it just would feel weird.

The three of them have been together as a trio for so long now that it would be weird if they suddenly got a permanent fourth member. Something like this would have worked had it been implemented much sooner in the series' run. If a fourth member were to be added, it would have to be an almost perfect transition and that would mean having more than one episode dedicated to it.

It's almost like adding Starlight to the mane 6; it's werd.

Perhaps add "members" (technically Babs is also a crusader), but keep them as secondary characters anyways.

Don't forget about Gabby the Griffon. She's technically part of their group as well.

In world explanation - they would be open to new members if a filly or colt was inclined to join. Gabby validated that theory. 

Narrative explanation - if it serves the story and it makes sense, I see no issue with it. At present, I see the A bit but haven't seen a good B. Otherwise it's a gimmick. Read King's 'On Writing' if that didn't make sense. He goes into detail on what 'in service to the story' means.

I would also suggest you read criticism levied at the inclusion of the Nyx OC character in the CMC for possible failure points to this concept.

I don't necessarily think that they need to add more members to their group, but I would like to see the CMC hang out with Diamond Tiara in an episode, seeing how she was reformed in season 5, but never really got to do anything afterward.

I consider them taking on Babs and Gabby as adding new members. Sure they are not around all the time, but that is OK.... I would enjoy seeing them grow the CMC roster in that regard... they don't have to be around all the time, but they can still be official members helping to spread the word, values and mission of the CMC.

I think they don't need any new permanent members, but having new "affiliate" or "honorary" members that appear once or several times, like Gabby and Babs, is OK. As for the characters like Diamond Tiara, Twist, etc., I'd certainly like to see their interactions with CMCs more often. Also, don't forget about the Manehatten branch of CMCs - we have yet to see them, I hope.

I was thinking of this the last hour and maybe they need to make an hole organization of ponies who help foals. Maybe for the future!
