A follow up in the sense that Starlight Glimmer is super special buddies with Celestia and Luna.

Nope. I not only hate the idea of a super jealous Twilight at this point, it would also make no sense for Starlight to all of a sudden be closer to them than Twilight was just because she accidentally did something that the princesses found perfectly fine for no reason. I would like this episode as much as I liked the original, which is barely at all.

I quite like Glimmer, but I have to agree that this idea doesn't fit very well. Starlight is not closer to either Princess than Twilight (it was actually one of the reasons she made sense for the episode in question). Secondly, I am no longer sold on an evil Twilight incarnation. Third, I wouldn't be happy if the motivation was identical to Luna's. Finally, Celestial Advice shows how deeply Tia cares about Twilight.

All this would do is make people hate Starlight even more than they already do, particularly Twilight fans, and it already gets bad for the poor girl as is.

I agree with Kyoshi. Maybe she could go with Twilight and maybe Trixie to canterlot and have a nice picnic in the park with each other.

I like to see her make more contact with the princesses. But never more then Twilight.

on a more serious note, in addition to the other (many) problems with the base plot, we've ALREADY seen twilight turn into a nightmare in equestria girls; Midnight sparkle was the entire climax of Friendship games.

While she'd be a pony nightmare instead of a human one, you'd be just retreading done ground, the newness of twilight's nightmare form is over.
