Azureth 687 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 While I know we would like to see a high-quality game, even at the very least I am surprised there hasn't been some crap shovelware game made. If Barbie and Dora the Explorer can get games I find it strange there hasn't been any MLP game, shovelware or not.

StrawCherry 1,673 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 I am surprised! A while back, I was bored and I had a DS emulator on my laptop at the time. I decided to see if I could find any My Little Pony ROM because there surely would be. I was wrong. There are games on the older generations though, but not G4 which is unfortunate.

Brony Number 42 10,090 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 There is a non FIM MLP game. But a FIM game is a no brainer. Hasbro might as well print their own money; people would buy it. I think a 3D platformer would be fun. This is my new signature.
Ashen Pathfinder 16,164 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 Well, there's really only mobile games at this point, and I really don't see it changing anytime soon. I mean, you have the following: 1. The MLP game by Gameloft, which seems to be popular and is updated on a regular basis, including movie stuff IIRC. 2. MLP: Puzzle Party, which was taken down due to it being a clone of Toy Blast. 3. Harmony Quest & Runners; which are both decent, if simplistic, action-ish games that seem to be at least licensed by Hasbro, and actually have some effort put into them. Pathfinder I Sojourner I Corsair | Zu'hra I Autumn | Scarlet Willow | Gypsy | Silverthorn | Crystal Whisper | Radiant Historia | And many other OCs~ Matching signatures with mah Bestie MOONLIGHT <

If Barbie and Dora the Explorer can get games I find it strange there hasn't been any MLP game, shovelware or not. The video game market has changed a lot recently, at least from my perspective. Remember that a lot of those games like Barbie and Dora came out back in the mid 2000s, when FiM didn’t exist yet. Back then games were often only $20, and game systems came out a lot less often. The PlayStation 2, which was one of the most popular consoles for these types of games, was on sale from 2000 to 2013. That meant that a company could design a game in, say, 2005, and keep it on shelves for 7 years without touching it. Do you think if Hasbro came out with a game for XBONE and/or PS4 that they could continue to sell it new until 2026? I highly doubt it. The era of children’s franchises getting cheap throwaway games made for them is quickly going away. Also, one big difference is, Hasbro knows that we exist and that many of us are gamers. Whereas Barbie and Dora can get away with having poor to mediocre gameplay, Hasbro knows that a FiM game would have to appeal to not only the little girl target market, but also tens of thousands of young men who grew up playing CoD and Fallout, and who are probably still sore about Fighting is Magic being shut down. If Hasbro came out with a simple game for little girls, Bronies would pan it. If Hasbro came out with a game that appealed to Bronies, parents would likely complain. As such, they’ve simply chosen to avoid the video game issue entirely, aside from the iOS game. Signature by the ever-awesome Overdrive! Pinki Pie FTW! I think a possible middle ground in that regard, would be taking inspiration from Super Princess Peach . The game was easy, but didn't lacked charm. In fact, I did like that game WAY MORE than New Super Mario Bros . Still, it'll face the problem of appealing gamers to buy it 2 Sig by Discords
Vocal Analyst 665 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 (edited) I'd love to see an open world sandbox MLP game... with the entirety of Equestria open to your whims much like the fan-made Legends Of Equestria. The idea of creating your own pony and going on your own adventure across all facets of the land and beyond... that's something I REALLY want. I think a Pony game is possible, but the risk is pretty high and the reward is probably negligible. Signature by the ever-awesome Overdrive! Pinki Pie FTW! If they wanted to get an MLP game on the market, they could always outsource it to a competent developer like they did with the Transformers games. Wayforward's good at old-school gameplay, so they'd be ideal for an MLP 2D platformer, or beat em up. 2 No questions asked.
