Favorite and Least Favorite Mega Man Games

With Mega Man 11 coming out this year, I thought it would be interesting to ask what are your favorite and least favorite Mega Man games.

Classic Series - My favorite is either Mega Man 7 or 3, and my least favorite is probably Mega Man and Bass. Mega Man 7 is the most overlooked out of all of the classic games. The game looks beautiful, and the soundtrack is fantastic, with Freezeman's being my favorite. One of the things that gave Mega Man 7 it's own identity was all the little secrets you could uncover like protoman's shield. I always found Mega Man 3 very user friendly despite being the longest out of the original classic games and it probably makes the easiest to jump into aside from Mega Man 2. Mega Man and Bass is the only classic series I could never beat, because of the high difficulty, and poor level design.

In terms of the X Series I would say, The first X or X4 are my favorites, while X6 or X7 are probably my least favorites. X1 is one of my favorite video games of all time, and my  personal favorite SNES game. X4 I've played way too many times to count because it's just so much fun to playthrough as both X and Zero. I also really liked the inclusion of Anime cutscenes, and to comment on the voice acting, it's a complete guilty pleasure.:smug:  To give some credit to X6, it does have one of the best soundtracks in any Mega Man game. X7 is a snorefest with terrible controls, horrible camera, and some of the worst voice acting in the series to date. Anybody remember Flame Hyenard?.....:orly:

I also really loved Mega Man Legends 1 and Legends 2 for being their own fun little action RPG games. If you haven't tried these give them a try, as they are worth playing through at least once.I haven't played much of the other Mega Man series so I can't really comment on them.

I am so glad Mega Man is back, and Here's to Mega Man 11!

I'd easily pick X1 as my all time favorite Megaman game, it gets just about everything right, perfect difficulty as the game gets easier the more power ups you find, but never lets up its attack, a solid story with an underdog you want to root for, the perfect blend of speed, action and platforming, and one of the greatest soundtracks ever made. After that is Legends 1, I know most prefer too, but there was something special about the first game, it was the first 3D Megaman game with a fun cast of characters and an interesting story, and there was a homely feel to Kattalox Island.

My least favorite game is definitely X7 and it's not even close, this game looks, sounds, and feels like it was made on a $2 budget. This has some of the worst controls of any Megaman game and a terrible implementation of 3D sections(though 2D isn't much better), visually it looks cheap and uninspired, it has some of the worst voice acting ever, and not in a funny way like Megaman 8 and X4, and the game makes the ultimate Megaman sin of having a bland, boring, forgettable, and uninspired soundtrack. After that is probably Megaman and Bass, which is the most frustrated I've ever been with a Megaman game, and suffers from some of the worst character bias in the series(the game is unreasonably difficult with Megaman, while the game is tailor-made for Bass)

My favourite Mega Man game without a doubt is Mega Man IV for the Game Boy. This one means a lot to me because it was the first Mega Man game that I owned--my brother owned Mega Man II also for Game Boy until he gave it to me years later--and I had purchased it when I visited Edmonton in 1994. I don't remember all of the details save for when I accidentally took the game box--no game was in it--out of the store resulting in the alarm going off. I was so excited back then that the thought of setting off an alarm never really crossed my mind until it happened. I played Mega Man IV numerous times because of how engaging it was and it showed that the Game Boy could handle the Blue Bomber well if enough care was put into the development.

Least favourite? Mega Man & Bass for the Game Boy Advance all because of the screen crunch and the difficulty when playing as Mega Man.

My favorite Classic Megaman game is 2 next to 1. Least Favorite is Megaman and Bass next to 3, 4, 5.

Favorite Megaman X game is X3 (My first Megaman Game I played). Least Favorite is both X6 and X7. I don’t like them equally. I’m indifferent to X5.

Favorite Megaman Zero game is 3. Least Favorite is 4.

Favorite classic is easily 2, you can't beat greatness. least favorite maybe 9 or 10

Favorite "X" is maybe x2 or x3, and my least favorite would be x6, though I had stopped my love for mega man at that time, so I might be a tad biased since ive played most of the classics and like 4 of the x series, and only 1 of the zeros.

Gonna be honest, I actually don't like any of the classic NES Megaman games, at least the ones I have played. The originals, in my view, have not aged very well like other sidescrollers of the time. It is certainly better than a game like Ninja Gaiden, but doesn't come close to the Mario games for example.

For me, Megaman games didn't really get good until Megaman X, which also is my favorite of the entire franchise. If I had to pick another least favorite from that, Megaman X2. I just couldn't get into that one. I didn't like the powers nor the stages much. X3 was better in my opinion, but the original X remains king.

If you're ever looking for more of an Adventure style/RPG Mega Man, then Legends 1 and 2 on the Playstation 1 are definitely the way to go.

My favourite is Megaman 9. Least favourite is easily Megaman & Bass on GBA, because that game is bullshit.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
