As we have seen in the Break Up Break Down, the Big Macintosh/Sugar Belle ship went through a violent storm, but was victorious for she has a mighty fine crew. 

Now if there's anything Big Mac has that Applejack doesn't, it's an established canon romance. Which brings me to the point of this thread.

What goes through the minds of the Mane 6 as well as Starlight Glimmer and The Great and Powerful Trixie, when it comes to Hearts and Hooves Day? I bring up both Starlight and Trixie because by this point I consider them main characters in the series. 

We've seen fully established canon relationships throughout Hearts and Hooves day. Lyra and Bon Bon, Cranky and Matilda, and Maud and Mudbriar. 

Suppose any of the Mane 6 were to walk through Ponyville and notice all the romance going on. What would be going through their minds. How sad and lonely do they feel about not having a "Special Somepony" on this day. Same goes with Starlight and/or Trixie. 

Let's stick with canon and avoid fanships.

I was a little surprised to see Spike not with Twilight this episode, I know he can do things on his own, I'm just saying I almost never see him away from Twilight.

Rarity did try for romance a couple of times. I think she's only just gotten the horrendous taste of her experience with Prince Blueblood out. Hearts and Hooves day would only bring back bad memories of how much of a charmless, self centered, narcissist Prince Blueblood was.

Nah, he's history seasons ago, otherwise his heavy crush on Trenderhoof wouldn't have happened.

She would probably spend her H&H day eating ice cream and wondering how her crushes always turn into disappointments.

Speaking of Trenderhoof. If his being given the cold shoulder by AJ back in Simple Ways is any indication, Applejack has absolutely no interest in romance or H&H day at the moment. Maybe someday, but for now her life is her work on Sweet Apple Acres, the Friendship school, etc.

He learned that he shoudnt be jealous of platonic friends. But he would never let her have a romantic date.

He learned to respect the fact that Fluttershy can have fun with other people who share common interests with her, and as shown in 'The Break Up Break Down' Discord wasn't into H&H day.

And what's that about 'never let her have a romantic date'? They're not a couple, are you aware of that?

If you would watch the recent episode you would know that he crush on her so he would never be bothered playing D&D if she was having a date with a stallion. Dont be naive.

I also imagine that on H&H day, Pinkie Pie would be throwing a lot of parties for each of the couples. Who knows, maybe she'll throw a party for her "Special Somepony" someday.

I believe that Rainbow Dash might find H&H day to be too mushy for her tastes. 

Twilight might be too busy with her studies, running the Friendship School, and overall her status as "Princess of Friendship" to even consider romance at this point.
