Do you think the Alicorn Amulet makes permanent changes?

I'm just wondering do you think the changes by the Alicorn amulet are or can be permanent like the ones made by the Inspiration Manifestation book or do they all just dissapear once its removed?

I have theory after it is worn for so long that some of the effects will stay with wearer. I also think if it's worn for so long that the wearer will grow wings, I know that's a weird theory but that's what I think would happen.

i think it was illustrated clearly enough that the changes went away once the amulet was removed(if you're talking about Trixie's amulet when you say Alicorn amulet), the catch was that nopony except the wearer could remove it, while with the book of inspiration manifestation the triger was the truth, that's why it stayed

I was thinking more changes to the surroundings like Trixies Golden carriage more than the corruption/other passive changes. Inspiration Manifestation we see even after Rarity is freed of its influence remain as we see a VERY frazzeled Twilight mentioning both Cadence and Luna has to help her clean up all the dark magic. Which is what got me wondering if the Alicorn amulet was the same when used to change something like change a ponies age the change was permanent unless someone reversed it.

While Twilight held ALL the Alicorn magic before her battle with Tirek, imagine if she donned the Alicorn Amulet as well. Twilight would have become a GODDESS!

 

Back on topic:

Short term, I don't think the effects will last. If an alicorn wore it for say a year, I think her personality would be forever distorted.

Agreed... I've always seen it as the equivalent of the One Ring of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Prolonged ownership of the Ring may corrupt the bearer. If one ends up losing the Ring after being corrupted, the detrimental effects will still last indefinitely. 

Obviously Trixie seems to return to her normal self after the events of Magic Duel. But who's to say there won't be longer lasting corruption--even after removing the Amulet--if a pony wears the Amulet for a much longer period of time?

I always saw the Alicorn as an Artifact of Doom that was made by an EVIL Alicorn in the far distant past as it obviously corrupts the wearer. Which is why I always say, "I don't care if Alicorns can be born or they have to be earned. What's important is that the Alicorns of today use their abilities for good instead of evil."
