"But not you," Oliver pointed out, finishing his own drink. "You proved that it doesn't have to be Talon's way or the high way. Maybe it'll inspire other dragons your age, or younger ones? Since you did it, why not them?"

Jenna shook her head "The inspiration already exists, I told about him when we first met." she pointed out "I'm just one of those inspired by his legend." "I'm not the first one or the last one to escape, the only question is how long each lasts."

"Well you've proven they can handle themselves well out here," Oliver pointed out. "You escaped, and now look at you. You're on the run, maybe, but you're alive and well. That means other dragons your age can survive out here."

"That is assuming that they know I even exist." Jenna pointed out "It's not like Talon tells them about those who survive, they only learn about those who don't, there's a reason why we all fear Vipers so much."

"Well, maybe word will get out about the things you do," Oliver pointed out. "I mean, you've killed two Vipers so far. That's bound to start going around. Plus, it'll tell the other dragons that the Vipers are beatable."

Jenna shrugged "Maybe, maybe not, it's very hard for something to start circulating in Talon since those who are young only interact with their trainers and other such people who are already brainwashed." she stated "That's the exact reason why they do it like that, bunch of kids can't start planning a rebellion if they don't know anyone else."

"Well, stuff like that always gets back," Oliver pointed out. "No doubt the higher ups will be talkng about it, which'll get back to the lower ranks, and so on until the young ones are whispering about it."

"There's no certain either way." Jenna concluded "Talon is good at keeping information out of ears in which it doesn't belong to, but at the same time, they never managed to silence the word about the one rogue."

"Exactly," Oliver said with a nod. "Like I said, word about this kind of stuff always gets around. Maybe the others will hear about what you're doing and get inspired by it. Especially when Talon gets more and more desperate."

"Inspiration is one thing, means are a different thing." Jenna pointed out, it was a pessimistic situation for those in Talon "I was lucky when my help contacted me, most don't have that luxury." "That's why I hope the legend is true about the rogue, because that would mean there's someone capable of helping all the poor hatchlings."

"Hope is a powerful thing," Oliver pointed out. "If you give enough hope to someone, more oftnn than not, that's all they need to make a big difference. Even if it's to break out of somewhere like Talon."

"Or desperation." Jenna added "It's lot easier to do hard things if that's the only thing with even slight chance of having positive result." she spun a spoon in her empty cup, looking at it "There is fates worse than death after all."

"That makes it worth trying, right?" Oliver pointed out, finishing his drink. "If it leads to a better life, that means it should be worth pursuing. It means you haven't submitted and you have free spirit."

"Depends on who you ask." Jenna pointed out "Not everyone is ready to take the risk of death, with how long we live, there's lot to lose." "So I don't blame those who decide to stay, taking safety over freedom."

"Safety at the cost of becoming a slave doesn't really sound worth it," Oliver said, shrugging. "Breaking free might be more dangerous, but at least you can make your own choices, like what you're doing now."

"Not everyone feels like a slave there." Jenna pointed out "If you're good enough, it's closer to being in the military, you are relatively free, just under constant monitoring and you have to follow orders." "No family or other such things, but then again, we are loners by nature, so many don't mind." "Some even enjoy it, take for example the Vipers, you don't become a Viper if you don't enjoy doing it."

"Considering being a Viper seems to mean going out and killing people, I dunno what there is to enjoy," Oliver said. "Though I'm sure it's different to a dragon. Still, you should be free to choose what you want to do."

"There's serial killers among humans too." Jenna pointed out "Humans also are one of the animals that kills for fun too, like cats, or dragons." she continued "So it's not really that much of stretch that someone would enjoy being a Viper." "And I agree that everyone should have a choice, I just pointed out that not everyone is a slave in Talon, because if everyone was, the wouldn't be nearly as powerful as they are." "Empire ruled with fear can't survive if there isn't enough individuals willing to keep up that fear, like laws would mean nothing if there wasn't police to uphold them."

"I guess so," Oliver admitted. "But I'm saying everyone who doesn't wat to be in Talon should have the choice to leave and do what they want without being hunted down. If they want to stay or go, then let them."

"What should be always isn't." Jenna stated "We wouldn't be having this conversation if they were." "And I assure you, the Elder Wyrm couldn't care less what you, I or anyone else thinks." "And let's not forget the Order, it's their fault that Talon exists in the first place."

"Someone should be able to stand up to this Order and what they're doing, right?" Oliver asked, sitting up a bit. "If you get enough people - well, dragons to stand with you. There's power in numbers, right?"

"It's not that simple." Jenna explained "The Order gets destroyed, Talon will take over because The Order is the only thing going against them, Talon gets destroyed, The Order will hunt us into extinction." "They are two evils that are needed to keep each other in check."

Oliver blinked, trying to make sense of that. "Why would The Order hunt you down if a threat like Talon was gone? Also, what if they were both gone? The Order and Talon? You'd be totally free then, right?"

"Because they are a religious militia created for the sole purpose of hunting dragons?" Jenna pointed out "The Order existed before Talon, Talon was a response to the Order." "And destroying them both, that is the solution we all dream of, we would be free yes, assuming humanity wouldn't find out about us and start hunting us down again, but there's one problem, how exactly would one do that? it's hard enough to get enough numbers to go against one of them, not to mention both."
