Just in case the crew forgot, I'm going to send out a little reminder. Especially with Season 3 looming when we'll (assuming) have new banners each week reflecting something from the episode that just aired.

Unfortunately there are presently about eleventy billion things on the proverbial 'to-do' list presently. Between that, and the fact that Feld0 is on vacation, and I'm 'technically' on vacation, certain things are lagging a bit. The Octavia's Hall thing and this being two prime examples.

 

Basically... please be patient, there's presently a lot of work going on behind the scenes at the moment.

I was actually thinking about asking this not that long ago, but then I saw this thread and I was like AAAAAAAWWWW YEAAAAAA cause someone had the same idea as me. plus, i just wanna save some of the more awesome old banners for use as backgrounds on my PSP.

It's probably been going on a lot longer, but since I joined, I see a practice of creating a new banner each week representative of the latest episode.  Sleepless In Ponyville got two:  Rainbow Dash hugging Scootaloo and the Headless Horse.  Is there somewhere on this website where all the previous banners are saved and members can look at them anytime?  So far the most memorable one was for Halloween with Twilight and glowing jacko lanterns. 

 

And is it possible to see entire wallpapers/backgrounds without the forum itself in the way?

No there isn't. Though I remember Feld0 talking about adding them to some place for everyone to see a loooong ago.

 there is but I dont remember how. Look on the source code or something.

As far as I know there is no official place the banners are stored. I have saved all the banners I have seen starting with sometime around July 4th however.... But no there is no official place for the banners. And as for the wallpaper, you would have to find that in the websites source code. I thing someone got the birthday wallpaper that way.
