Rose gasped in pain and looked up to see the knife about to enter the pony's back. She tried to stand up, but needed to use her shadow to brace her. Her shadow was wavering, about to give out. She hopes that it will hit, but it might not at the same time

"Well that's coming out of your pay check," Draco stated as he looked at the two with a grin on his face. He looked at the Minotaur who spoke and said "lovely, the Minotaur finally speaks," Draco stated with a bit of sarcasm to his voice. Draco walked over to the fridge and cracked open a bottle of soda.  "good stuff," Draco stated. he looked to the minotaur and said "There is no redemption in the world is there no matter how the 6 element holders do it," Draco stated as he chugged the soda. "After all Justice is just a battered old whore," Draco stated aloud. "No pony can truly outlast the mistakes of his past," he stated simply as he looked around and pulled out his cigar. "We're all just living on borrowed time. and when the Wanderer finds us well it's time isn't it?"

The grey stallion extended a blackened shield to deflect Rose's attack, but he didn't see Pad's spin dash coming. The blue unicorn was headed straight for the stallion's back when the shadow creature he controlled changed shapes again, creating a dome around the grey stallion's back that made Pad glide harmlessly off him. He stepped back and observed the scene. Rose was on her knees in the crater, and Pad was standing across from him.

"How cute, you wanted to play with us too, but it's too late now. Were you hoping to save her? Give her credit boy," the grey stallion said in his unsettling voice. He looked down at Rose and wrapped a shadow tendril around her, picking her up uncomfortably. "She's tough. She'll recover from this by the finals if you ever make it there. Though I don't think she'll be of as much use to you tomorrow. Here, take her if you still want her." He roughly tossed her over Pad.

The shadow creature then swirled around the grey stallion and he disappeared.

"Well now, don't you have a way with rambling." Nin scoffed at Draco, then he turned his attention to Frostflame. He seemed to have suddenly gone lightheaded. "Well now, isn't that a bit dramatic?" He turned and started to leave before looking over his shoulder to say one last thing to the pair. "Oh, and one message we needed to tell you because I know some of you are thinking this. Don't think that you can get out of this alive by losing before reaching the finals. You may be thinking that if you get disqualified by a ten count you can return to your lives alive, but you're forgetting one thing. I'll get a wish when I win this tournament, and I'm going to wish for your blood. All of it. Yours and your friends. So do try to win the tournament for your own sake, and be sure to pass that information on to your friends."

Nin walked down the hallway and Onyx followed behind him, chipping the wall as he pulled his fist out of it.

Draco looked at the minotaur as he used his wind to hold up Frost. "You come after them in anyway I will beat you to death with your very horns," Draco stated simply his eyes held nothing no fear of death. "I intend on continuing," Draco stated calmly. And as they left Draco sighed to himself and muttered "I'm tired. blood on my hooves. a tired sinner," he muttered quietly as he sat down onto a chair.

As the attack was about to connect, Dynamo was surprised, yet glad that he was able to catch his opponent off guard. What he didn't expect was the shadow moved to create a shield to protect the stallion from the attack. As his spin dash landed, Dynamo hit the shield and tried to push the stallion back, but to no avail. He was repelled from the shield and landed a couple of feet away from the stallion. He looked to see Rose, who was on her knees in the crater. The blue unicorn raised an eyebrow and scoffed at the stallion's words. "Who says I'm here to play? I'm here to help out my friend." He looked towards Rose, before looking back at the stallion. "I know she's tough and she can take care of herself. It doesn't hurt to have a little backup ever now and then." His eyes widened slightly at the mention of her injuries. He knew she must have gone through a lot, but what did this guy do? He assumed that shadow could have been the cause of this mess. Dynamo didn't have time to think as the stallion roughly tossed Rose over to the blue unicorn. Said unicorn ran forward a few feet to catch Rose from hitting the ground. 

Once he caught her, he felt himself fall to the ground from the added weight. He made sure to hit the ground first, so Rose didn't suffer any more injuries. As he looked back towards the stallion, Dynamo sighed as said stallion had disappeared with the help of his shadow. He looked around as everything seemed to have gone quiet. "Rose? Are you okay? Please speak to me." He looked down to make sure that she was okay, but he wasn't expecting a response. He was thankful that she was breathing, but the state she was in was bad. "Don't worry, Rose. I'm right here and we're getting you back to the hotel." He says, before hoisting her up and placing her on his back. His legs nearly buckled from under him as he almost fell forward. He never carried anyone on his back before, but he didn't have time to waste. "Just hang on tight, Rose. We're on our way to the hotel." He then took off at an even pace, so as to not agitate Rose's injuries. 'I can only hope that Tricis and Jade are back at the room. I don't know what to do and we need help now.'

Rose was barely  conscious  to extend  her shadow to gather to knife and hear what Dynamo was saying, but  was unable to talk through the pain. She muttered right before  passing out, "Thanks."

Jade nodded and stood up, following Tricis back to the hotel. She couldn't help but wonder where she was going with all these questions and hypothesises.

Frostflame lied on the floor, trying to wrap his mind around what just happened. He managed to hear bits and pieces of Nin's threat, but most of it sounded distorted. Eventually he came to his senses, and got up from the floor. "That... that was very unusual." He stared at Draco "I'm getting old, but not that old..." He paused for a moment "Something isn't right, they did something to me! I don't know what, but what ever it is I'll make them pay for it!" Frostflame reached down and picked up his hat. "What did they say to you, Draco? You looked pretty upset about something."

Tricis lead Jade back to the hotel room silently and contemplatively. They entered the room to see Draco and Frostframe with Frostflame seeming bent out of shape about something. There was also a crater on the far wall of the hallway leading to the room. How strange.

There were no more unexpected obstacles leading back to the hotel room, though Dynamo would need to keep an even pace to avoid worsening her injuries.

Jade returned to the hotel room with Tricis, a little concerned at how uncharacteristically quiet and lacking in snark the older mare was at the moment.

She saw the huge crater, then the two stallions looking rather beat up. She raised an eyebrow. "I suppose you two had fun?"

As he tried to retrace his steps on how he entered the forest, Dynamo could hear Rose mutter her thanks in finding her. "He glanced behind him and gave her a small smile. "You're welcome." He says as he noticed that she closed her eyes. He became concerned, but was thankful that she was still breathing. It seemed as if she had passed out, which meant that he had to make it back to the hotel as soon as possible. "I know the hotel is still a little bit far from here, but there's no time right now. With her injuries, I don't know how long she can last." He had an idea, but he wasn't sure if his idea would work. At this point, he knew he would have to try and save his teammate. He stopped in his step and closed his eyes. His horn began to glow as he was preparing to use a teleportation spell. 'Think of the hotel room. Remember how the room looked like. Imagine Jade, the coach, Frostflame and the others.' He thought to himself as he tried to picture the place that he needed to teleport to. Once he was ready, he glanced back one more time to give Rose and apologetic look. "Please forgive me, Rose. We need to get back, so I hope you can forgive the bumpy landing." He placed his hoof upon hers, so he would teleport with her. Once the spell took effect, the two of them had instantly vanished from the spot they were standing in a bright flash of light.

"It seemed that Selene from Team Rokata was with him. I asked him why, but he didn't give me an answer. Selene tried to use her ability to stop my heart, but for some strange reason she said that I wasn't affected by her power."

He sighed as he still couldn't understand what happened in his earlier encounter, but he had to keep explaining. "Selene told me that Rose was in the forest and was in trouble. I rushed over to the forest as quickly as I could. As soon as I got there, Rose was fighting someone, who looked like he was from Team Rokata. It was a stallion, but he had some sort of shadow to fight alongside him. I almost caught him off guard when I attacked, but his shadow defended him. The stallion left and I got Rose back here as soon as I could." He glanced towards the ground as he recalled something that Selene had said to him. "Perhaps your body knows something that your brain does not." He muttered quietly to himself. He glanced up and thought he saw a strange look in the eyes of his teammates. "I'm guessing that I'm probably not the only one, who was told that, huh?" He asks as he looks over to Frostflame, while Dynamo wondered what was up with his teammate.

She glared down at her hooves. "But why...?"

Dynamo grit his teeth, before slamming his hoof onto the arm of the chair. Just looking at the damaged form or Rose made him feel upset. 'If only I was faster. If only I was much stronger, then I could have got to her and backed her up.' He took a deep breath and sighed to try and calm down. He knew being angry wasn't going to get himself anywhere, but he still couldn't help, but feel guilty. As if this was all his fault. "That guy with the shadow said she'll be fine for the finals. He says she might not be of much help when it comes to tomorrow's fight. I just hope that he's wrong."

As he listened to Jade's assumption, Dynamo nodded at first, but he suddenly shook his head. "I can agree that they might have a vendetta against us, but they wouldn't pick us off. It's like I said before. Selene wanted to get rid of me, but she couldn't. I'm not sure about Draco or Frostflame, but they're still here. I guess they want to give us some sort of incentive. Either that, or they just want us to keep advancing." He remembered something else that Selene had said, so he decided to bring the subject up. "Hey, coach? Remember when you said that told me I've got the will to deny the impossible? Selene had said the very same thing to me. She said that I possess a very strong will. What does having a strong will even mean? Two ponies have said that, so that should mean something, right?" He asks as wasn't sure of the answer himself. He looked to his captain to see if she knew, but he didn't have much to go by.

Frostflame ignored their concerns about him, walked towards Rose, and silently examined her wounds. She didn't look like she was in critical condition, but he knew her injuries are bad enough to where she wouldn't be fighting for awhile. He thought about what Dynamo had said, and thought about what Nin had said a bit earlier. "They want us all dead, and will do anything to ensure it." He thought to himself. Frostflame still doesn't care for his team, but this is dirty and honorless, even for someone like him. "If the kid hadn't found her, she'd be lost to the forest, they'll do anything to ensure we don't win... even kill us." He said out loud to his team. "They tried to kill Dynamo, they did this to Rose, and they visited me and Draco not too long ago. They did something to me, I've felt weak ever since our first fight, like something was syphoning..." Frostflame stopped mid sentence and tried casting a ice shard at the wall... but only mist came out. He tried casting an ice wall, but more mist... he finally tried casting a frostflame, but as he did it exploded in his face, not enough to cause damage but enough to knock him to the ground. He sat up on the floor, looking up at his allies "I can't cast anymore".

Dynamo sat and listened as Tricis asked them her question. He closed his eyes to think as he sat back in the chair. He imagined if he was in the shoes of Team Rokata. As Tricis went into detail of how Rokata felt, Dynamo opened his eyes and decided to give it a try. "I know this is a random throw in the dark, but I think I understand. They see us as a challenge and want us to become stronger, so they can finally fight someone that can give them the match they've always wanted." He shrugged his shoulders, but he chose to continue. "I mean, think about it. Each one of them went for separate members of our team. Whether they wanted a certain pony to fight, or they found something unique in us, then I'm not too sure. The team they fought yesterday was nothing and they ran them over without a second thought. They showed up at the end of our match? That wasn't just a coincidence. We might not have been much at first, but they might have saw something. Something they haven't seen in quite a while. That was the challenge and feeling of seeing of a team with natural talent. We each displayed a lot of skill, strategy and power within the round. They could have taken us out not, or they weren't able to. However, they wanted to give us a reason to get stronger, or they will finish the job. Maybe they know we have more room to grow stronger individually and as a team, so we can give Team Rokata their grand fight.  Maybe we know who we'll be fighting if we went against them, but again that's just an assumption." He looked to Tricis and nodded. "Is that what you meant by that question, coach?" He asks as he nods at her response to his earlier question.

Jade glared at Tricis's comment, but she thought hard about her hypothetical. Why would somepony unbeatable and bored by battle come to a tournament knowing they would win?

"There is the hope that a challenger that meets your skill comes along and gives you the challenge you desire."

Rose groaned and winced as she shifted on her couch, she only had enough strength to open her left eye without it hurting and took as much information that she could on her situation. Her body was bruised, ribs were cracked, and several of her leg's bones were splintered. She gritted her teeth and sat up without screaming in pain. She knew that she'll have to sit out the next fight, due to her beating

Dynamo nodded as Tricis confirmed that he and Jade were on the right train of thought. "If Team Rokata is trying to help us, then they have a bad way of helping out." He sighed as everyone explained what they had all gone through. There was still something that didn't add up to Dynamo. What Tricis was talking about made sense, but he couldn't figure out why. A thought suddenly occurred to Dynamo, so he decided to see what Tricis had thought. "Hey, coach? Shining Armor had said that Rail is one of the top executive of this tournament. Do you think that he's the one that's coaching Team Rokata? If so, then maybe he's the one that chose each of us to be on this team for the tournament." He shrugged his shoulders, before continuing. "It's a random guess, but it's because of what he told me. He was with Selene when I ran into them earlier. He told me that he extended my invitation. So, it's almost safe to assume that he gave everyone else here the same invite. Although, I'm not one hundred percent sure on that theory. I guess it's just that he saw something special with each of us that could give Team Rokata the fight they've been looking for." He says as he heard a shifting on the couch. He turned to see Rose was starting to wake up, but still looked to be in bad shape. He held a hoof out as Rose tried to sit up on the couch. "Just try not to move, Rose. You just woke up and probably in a lot of pain. We're trying to get you patched up, so it's easier to lay down and rest." He says, while worrying in concern about his friend and teammate.
