Cutie marks for humans

A cutie Mark is more than just a decorative tatoo on your arse. It permiates your entire life, makes up who you are as a pony/person. I want that for me in the human world. But I can't come up with a design.

In the past families would have a coat of arms, all who saw it knew who you were and what you stand for. But today we seem to have lost that. Some people get tatoos but in a few years always regret it. I don't want a tat but I would like a symbol I can make jewelry with, stamp on envalopes, hang above my door way, stitch into my cloths. I love how the equestria girls are wear their marks with pride.

Does anyone else have a cutie Mark that is their defining feature?

I feel like Emmit in the lego movie. "Look at Randy here, he likes sausage. That's something. Gail is perky, that's something." but when I think of me it's (crickets)

and maybe I'm just indecisive, I have no OC and I don't know what my patronus would be eather.

share your personal cutie Mark if you have one.

The closest I can come is this symbol I made for my Jedi related work

I never got around to putting it on my OC but I use a Fleur De Lis inside of a wreath. I used to specify it as being made of olive branches but I like the flexibility of it possibly being of laurel or wheat. We're never really dead set on one idea, or defined by a single quality, so it allows me to change attitudes for the occasion. It could be representative of many things, such as being bountiful, victorious, arbitrative, my options are open. The Fleur De Lis, although having a long and complicated history, I use merely as a symbol of power and nothing more. One could examine these further by how the symbols are presented. It's entirely symmetrical, so one could get a sense of being orderly. Having a symbol surrounding another could indicate a sort of protectiveness. The location of the Fleur De Lis specifically and it's use in this case would show centralized power being of some importance. The use of only the color black also has several meanings that usually relate to a theme, but here it's used more out of simplicity/minimalism. On some symbols the number of objects or points can have meaning but they don't in this instance. I originally made it to be used on a flag I designed, which is also how I settled on my OC's colors. I happened to already have a symbol I could use before I joined the fandom. Try not to overthink it or you'll get lost in the process, but know you can pack a lot into a small image.

I don't think I've been in the fandom long enough to pick a cutie mark. I can actually relate to the CMC in the early seasons with this. I'm still getting used to this new "identity" that I have, now that I know so much more about who and what I truly am. The cutie mark for the OC I made for the Tails of Equestria RPG (it's a snowflake partially obscuring the sun) probably "could" work for me, but I feel like there's something missing that I still haven't figured out.

My only problem is that you say your cutie mark is "how you live your life". In my opinion, you don't have to stick to something entirely through out your life. So, your "mark" should evolve overtime with your tastes.

That was covered a lot in the CMC "Day Camp" episode. Your Cutie Mark doesn't have to reflect your career. It can be a hobby, or what you do for others in your spare time. It's something that defines who you are at your core. If you end up being great at cooking, it doesn't mean you can't still paint circles.

That is true, that is why I think a "mark for humans" is inherently flawed. I know I personally wouldn't want a mark that says "HEY, I'M A CARPENTER" wherever I go.

I suppose in a way we do with business cards... I want some sort of symbol to be MY symbol eunique to me. Businesses have logos, it doesn't depict everything about the business but it does in a way define them.

Is there any specific thing you WOULD prefer to be the first thing people notice about you?

Sadly I feel like this is one of those times where MLP didn't do it as well as they could have. But then, the stories tend to be kept simple, and the short running time probably doesn't allow for a lot of introspection without getting deeply philosophical. I feel like the idea of the cutie mark is more accurately reflected in this scene in "Rise of the Guardians." (Very underrated movie)

Preferably nothing. I have enough self-confidence that I don't need other people's validation on my appearance.

Ehh... do you mean physical? Because that's definitely not what I was talking about, I was going deeper. Personality traits, ambitions, etc.

I rephrase then. What is the first thing you would prefer people to KNOW about you?

Me, I've always been a kid at heart, I tend to play with everyone like we're all 14 years old if they're OK with it. I guess I'm a lot like Pinkie in that way. In the absence of something more modern as an identifier, I used an image of Peter Pan for an Avatar quite frequently. That's actually not my core being, and it might not be as uncommon in the Bronyverse, but in the "mundane" world, that innocent silly fun is the unique thing I always brought to the table (with... very mixed results as far as how folks reacted to it).
