Hasbro's marketing research team spent millions trying to figure out if they should do that or not...turns out, they can't take the risk to their budget.

Wow - it sure is useful to have such a great team of think tanks in your company.

An upsided plushie pattern would probably work for constructing one, the only problem would be the cutie-mark. Those things are made of wide swaths of solid colors for a reason, fussy stitching is tricky, and that kind of fabric doesn't take after-the-fact paint or dye well.

there are fairly large foil balloons of the mane 6 available; the difference between one of those and an inflatable vinyl figure is marginal.

At party city there's an MLP birthday section and one of the items they have is this giant pinkie pie balloon that's meant to glide across smooth surfaces. Not sure if every location carries it but if you can find it, get some lights on that and a Santa hat and it might work.

Seriously?

Plushies or Balloons wouldn't stand up to the cold and snow well.

I don't see why they would be stolen any more than any other Christmas decorations.

A guy around here cut the South Park kids and Mr. Hanky out of plywood and painted them. That's probably your best bet if you have the skill.
