Why are their so many conspiracy theories about McDonald's?

Probably because it's a really old fast food restaurant chain with too much history.

Because it's a breeding ground for heart disease that constantly tries to make its food sound so much healthier than it actually is.

Cause it been around the longest and has gotten the brunt of the ire from people who dislike fast food. I have heard more conspiracy theories about Wendy’s though,

Any conglomerate as vast as McDonald's is going to get backlash, and conspiracy theories abound in that kind of environment. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with McD's, it's just an easy target. Their food may not be healthy and they may have their faults, but if you look hard enough, the same could be said of countless others. So I don't pay much heed to conspiracy theories about a burger joint. It all seems too silly.

Also rumors or reports go around from time to time exposing how they make their food or what's in it and that freaks people out- the reason it doesn't happen to arby's or burger king as much is probably either because mcdonald's is the most popular one or there's some truth to the "conspiracy"

Because their food is disgusting. Only thing  that's good from there is the fries and breakfast.

Because they're a gigantic corporation. Anything that large that's been around for that long will inevitably get hit with gobs of nonsense, among the true things.

For example, the lady who sued McDonald's over the coffee spilling on her was justified in doing so but McDonald's smeared this lady to try to dodge responsibility of serving coffee so fucking hot that it sealed this woman's labia shut. In among the horseshit is plenty of truth.
