Do you think Starlight Glimmer was underutilized?

I don't think she was underutilized, but rather poorly utilized. Especially in S6 which I feel had lasting effects on the fandom's opinion of her

I mean... maybe? Out of the non-student main cast, she’s still the one with the most unresolved questions. I want to wait and see what happens this season, but with the extreme emphasis the first half of the season seems to be putting on the students over Starlight and the CMC’s, I’m not very confident they even care about anyone’s stories outside the students and the main six anymore.

I think she's gotten more than enough time in the show, but a lot of that time - specifically in seasons 6 and 7 - were used rather poorly; the big issue is that she's a weird character with implications the show was not willing to explore. I felt season 8 overhauled her personality to make her fit the show a lot more, and I thought like she was used fairly well that season.

She was too much utilized. What I mean by that is she was more of a tool to solve practical problems with her powerful magic rather than a person.

I would welcome all new characters, but in Starlight's case, she didn't have the proper buildup enough to match her screentime. Same with the student six.

She is now in a difficult situation, because now she is just used as a school janitor for Twilight whenever she goes after an adventure more conveniently. She was less developed when she was the main character of the show, and now it's backfiring so the writers doesn't know what to do with the character anymore.

She could have done so much instead of being utilized as a convenient tool and she could have been more of a character instead of being a reformed villain is her only drama.

I would love to see her as a fully fleged character, but how she is doing these days, I lost hope for her in future episodes.

I've heard her roll-out was rocky because different sides (especially Hasbro people) disagreed about her prominence in the show. The showrunners wanted her to be equal to the Mane 6 in terms of billing and screen time. Those who don't work on the show disagreed.

She's a very interesting character who could be explored in her own set of stories, but there were already several such characters. There's a lot left to the imagination with her. In that sense she is underutilized, but then so are all of the Mane 6 sans Twilight.

Good riddance. Never make your original protagonists drink green milk. If you do, Uncle Ethan will come into your house at night and lick all the butter in your fridge.

She was pretty underutilized in Season 6.

Makes you wonder why Twilight's friends don't do more in adventure stories, like being the main star in said adventure stories.

For the majority of Season 6, it felt as though the writers were still figuring out what to do with her and what her dynamic with the rest of the group would be. From Season 7 and onwards, she was utilized more often and more effectively, I feel.

She settled herself just fine in the role she meant to be, part of the group of Twilight's friends, she also has her own story arc with Trixie and her childhood friend that moved. (I forgot his name)

His name is Sunburst, for future reference.

Starlight actions and arc in season 6 was very well done. She acts like someone trying do the right think with a kink of evil here and there... which made sense. If she just all of a sudden was a perfect person after deciding to be good then that would have been terrible.
