The Student Six.

I kind of wish the writers did more with the Student Six. They've barely been used in this season. They could have had an arc where they become the new EoH while the Mane Six are ruling Equestria.

It feels like they're just another interesting idea the writers didn't do much with, like the Pillars. 

Maybe the Student Six could get their own spinoff. Would you watch that?

They should have just stayed in S8. Their stories were over and should have never been dragged back through S9, any episode featuring them in S9 just feels like a huge waste, especially since they aren't good and there's already a lot of things S9 needed to close up but won't be able to

Yes, I would definitely watch a spin-off about the Student 6! I have liked them since they were introduced, especially Ocellus and Smolder. The former especially needs more screentime – she hasn't had an episode focused on her the way some of the others did...

I agree the Student 6 have been underutilized lately, especially with how little merchandise there is of them. They had some of the best episodes last season (especially "What Lies Beneath"). I wouldn't have minded having more episodes for them this season either, though it's understandable they can't focus as much on all characters, with everything they're trying to do in the last season. Their entries this season have been a bit underwhelming compared to last season, "Uprooted" in particular (while I enjoyed it, it's my second least favorite in season 9).

I didn't mind their use in Season nine, though I feel that they were introduced too late, so they haven't exactly had enough time to make their mark. Would I watch a spin-off based off them? Of course I would.

I agree with Cash In. It feels like they were introduced too late and deserve a series worth of more episodes.

The issue with this is that, while they need more time to make their mark, you can't take that time from the main characters during the last season.

I see them as another catalyst for other story telling possibilities. Every new character introduced and used multiple times a season helps the world feel more lived in and immersive. Some of the students are milquetoast and some interesting. Would I like them to have their own show? I’m not sure. I certainly wouldn’t find it as enjoyable as FiM but it would at least pique my curiosity providing that they do something different than “kids in a school” as the framing device.

I don't wanna watch FIM version of Burger King Kids Club where every creature is just a pony in a costume. I would watch a fellowship of creatures doing stuff in a real fantasy world powered by many equally powerful types of classic element-based magic.

Pretty late in the series since the school was brought in to give Twilight Sparkle and co. something to do after being tapped out of ideas to fill time. The Student six just came with the school and tend to serve as token creatures to sell the idea her school teaching to non-ponies.
