I hope everything is able to work out and you are able to get the accommodations that you need at work. I think it's great that you are advocating for yourself, that takes a lot of courage. Good luck!

Yeah. I'm waiting on my written doctors note before I initiate the process as I reached out to them today. I'm hybrid and I need to be fully remote for the time being due to the extent my PTSD has gotten (which in theory shouldn't be a hard accommodation. As nobody really needs to see me in person anyway and I'm already hybrid. Is letting me work from home the three other days out of the week a big deal? Most of my days in plant are in silence anyway) However they could also go the "unfit for work route" with this. Which I have proof I am capable of working and have been performing my basic job functions. I don't trust HR at this company so. We'll see.

It's awesome we have so many people on this website who care, even people who run this website do. @Clawdeen I wish you the best of luck at work. Sometimes that comes at the expense of health but this is the world we live in unfortunately, and that does need to change. Some people are fortunate enough to not have to work when they cannot, but still get taken care of in their time of need. Compassion is something that we need more of.

Good. I just remembered to tell you that! Always get the official doctor's note, carefully document your tasks/job responsibilities, and ability to perform any job functions before initiating the request. They might try to counter with something minor, but just stay calm and professional as you should have ADA protections to request reasonable accommodations. I think you are approaching this well so far.

Yeah I've also been talking to a friend of mine on this as I want to make sure to go about this the right way.

I've sent a request to join Twilight's Soap box, though I'm torn on the decision, I don't like discussing politics, however if I do nothing and don't speak up about certain issues, I feel like I am contributing to some of our problems. Yeah as Silky mentioned in the What Are You Thinking Thread that's really the place to have those sort of conversations. If you feel passionate about speaking on those topics, which it sounds like you are, you should join and take part in them.

I understood SIlky's reasoning for removing the posts and locking that other thread, not her fault. Politics can even if unintentionally be divisive, but that same lack of cooperation among citizens speaks volumes about how broken the world is, a complicated issue for sure. Not much about our world does align with the values of this website, people who run it or the show they represent, although I wished they did, the real world is massively unfriendly in comparison.

Likewise on the discussion of that subject, I have studied public administration and know first hand how passionate people get here discussing politics here in the States.

It is why I don't entertain entering "public debates"/spaces as I realized very quickly that many people are not educated in regards to the history of social-economic issues and/or don't share empathy or respect for other people if they have opposing opinions than yours.

I was invited to join by several users here, but I don't know why. In my honest opinion, I don't think that sort of stuff should be on this website(for many reasons that I will not go into here), but it is anyone's prerogative to do what they would like and I wish them the best.

I'm feeling tired as I have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow and I was preparing a lot of stuff this morning.
