heavens-champion 1,905 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 (edited) Picture, if you will, a My Little Pony setting that looks and feels like something out of the Tolkien books and Chronicles of Narnia, where the ponies exist alongside humans, dwarves, elves, giants, fairies, and talking animals, and other races. The human realms very from Ancient Greek city-states, Ancient Egyptian, Medieval Europe, Ancient Rome, the 18th Century, and the 19th century and World War 1. And the technology is steampunk mixed with medieval technology. Does it sound like a good setting? cuteycindyhoney 13,307 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 Are you sure you mean steampunk? This is what I think when I contemplate a steampunk MLP world. 1 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
ShadOBabe 18,997 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 My own personal tastes makes me not enjoy ponies in the same vicinity as humanoid races, but I am ALL ABOUT the steampunk. 1 Check out my artwork any time: http://shadobabe.deviantart.com/ "OMG; You are such a troll. Splashee 28,564 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 Nah, I like MLP the way it was. Steampunk or more story-like might be a little bit too much (my opinion). As a fan of technical things, I don't like random noise where you see details that are only there to be details, and not to serve a function. FIM was good at showing details that served functions (like Pinkie's umbrella in Season 1). Example, switching every song in MLP to rock music versions, it just adds too much noise, and becomes a distraction.
-Juniper- 26 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 I am a VERY big fan of high fantasy worlds. I like steampunk, but its not my favorite thing in the world. The idea of playing a DnD campaign or something where pony was a race you could play seems super fun to me.
Goat-kun 2,527 November 28, 2019 Share November 28, 2019 (edited) As long as it is My Little PONY, it can never become a high fantasy. My Little Hobbit would be a worthless experience. Also, it does show how terribly they've ruined non-pones when the OP doesn't even register them as elf/dwarf alternatives. I agree. I am not a fan of having ponies meet humans (like every single live action adaptation of a cartoon). I know that the original MLP had humans but FIM is a horse of a different color. Putting them with humans, elves, and dwarves makes them just another race of creatures. 1 This is my new signature.

Fluttershutter 2,455 November 29, 2019 Share November 29, 2019 Well, MLP does fit the definition of high fantasy and it's had steampunk elements. Personally I like the lack of humans.

EpicEnergy 23,218 July 20, 2020 Share July 20, 2020 I'm not a fan of MLP steampunk, I would rather have high fantasy like MLP The Lord of The Rings or something like that. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Stardust 641 July 26, 2020 Share July 26, 2020 I do love steampunk I like the aesthetic of the gears and the sort of old fashioned futurism. It kinda suits MLP which seems like it has technologies but not so much things like phones. Though mostly magical artifacts. Maybe a bit of lovecraftian vibe with the monsters too. My oc has goggles and having them in full steampunk gear would look good.
