Does anyone know how to shrink the picture I just made?

Shrunk to 118x118 for avatar, using "bicubic sharper" filter. Just copy the link and paste into your avatar URL to upload it to the forum.

What did you use to shrink it?

Photoshop. I had to first extend the canvas to make it square. Then "Export to Web" and resized the image in there with the correct settings, and exported as PNG.

@ExplosionMare
It is important that you always save as PNG when you draw your own digital art. Don't use JPEG, as you will lose quality every time you save (modify). PNG keeps pixels and colors exactly the same, while JPEG keeps changing everything to be a mathematical expression of your drawing to save space on your harddrive (which is not what you want, you want quality over size, when you want to be able to modify or keep the original "as is").

Just an FYI, you don’t need Photoshop in order to resize photos. If you do a search on Google for “Resize photo”, you’ll find plenty of free art programs to resize a photo. Also, the allowed size for avatars here is 150x150.

Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind :Rara:

Good to know! I did all of this on my phone so that wasn’t an option anyways but for my computer, I’ll try saving stuff as PNGs and see if it works.

Nice!

I think both pictures could be slightly brighter, without losing any quality (a brightness adjust only). otherwise, they are really good (they are really good)! :pout:

Thanks!

The shaded version looks like she is standing under a tree, in the shade. It is slightly dark. I am guessing you see it differently on your phone though.

Maybe she is under a tree

Yeah, I can see that. I’ll try to fix it tomorrow. I think I’ll leave the unshaded one alone though cause I don’t want people thinking Pencil has orange hair.

These things are really quick changes, that might look better or worse depending on the monitor being viewed on. Anything from color adjust, saturation, gamma correction, brightness & contrast, are all usually standard settings in painting programs.

I have all those in my photos app so it’ll be pretty easy to fix

This isn’t in any way finished, it’s just a rough version of how I’m going about changing the shading since the shading seems to be messed up. As far as colors, should it look more like this or something else?

Aaaaaaa deviantart!

It is brighter now, but I can still see a huge difference between the darkest, and the brightest colors. I'll probably just talk to you in a message about it.

I really like the purple color!
