Jeremy 128 December 9, 2011 Share December 9, 2011 So I don't know if anyone has noticed this but... Saturn! Saturn everywhere! Well, maybe it's not Saturn since there's probably ringed planets elsewhere in the universe, but anyone have an analysis of this? Maybe the ponies live on Saturn. Well, that's not true since it's mostly gas. OR maybe they are planning to harness the power of the planet for some special cause. And I don't think it's a recycled image because it would have probably also been used here Any ideas?
Scootaloo1 106 December 9, 2011 Share December 9, 2011 Saturn is next... if Luna was banished to the moon... Applebloom is going to be banished to Saturn... because she's got the "Hoopy hoop" ... she likes rings... get it? For theft of Zecora's remedy's and shinanighans to Ponyville. Sunnymilk 40 December 9, 2011 Share December 9, 2011 Actually the show is of some sort of gasbased lifeforms that live on Saturn, they just gave them the look of ponies so that the people of Earth would be able to comprehend it. this would explain why the dragon would cover Equestria in smoke for hundred years, if their planet is really a stormy gas giant, the smoke would spread more quickly, thin out a little bit and cover a much larger area... IT ALL FITS!!!!

Although, there is a down side of it, we will not see if it is true, because it will take us 40 more years just to get to mars. :/
SBaby 660 December 9, 2011 Share December 9, 2011 Actually if you look at the chalkboards in both pictures, they both have exactly the same stuff on them.

I used to be a stranger 7,989 December 10, 2011 Share December 10, 2011 Also, circulocentric orbits are a fairly common thing for a planet. It doesn't necessarily mean a ring.

Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 December 10, 2011 Share December 10, 2011 I doubt it's Saturn...but the creators clearly based it off Saturn.
cuteycindyhoney 13,284 December 13, 2011 Share December 13, 2011 Equestria's planet could be ringed. Celestia sent her BIG sister to the other moon, and then blew it up!

I think if it was ringed we would be able to see some of what makes up the ring...asteroids, etc.
cuteycindyhoney 13,284 December 14, 2011 Share December 14, 2011 From the surface of a ringed planet, the rings wouldn't necessarily be naked eye visible. Besides, how would you see an asteroid that was under ten miles across? Twilight has a small refractive telescope. Do the ponies have large scale reflectors anywhere? Besides again, if their world is a Diskworld, maybe the ring is around the edge!
