God I can't wait for RTR to release. Izzet is back and might be standard viable again

Is that going to be the first expansion of the 2013 set? Also, do you have any idea when the first expansion is set to release? I thought it was coming up here pretty soon?

The first part of the block is out October 5th.

 

It features the Izzet (Red/Blue), Golgari (Black/Green), Selesnya (Green/White), Azorius (White/Blue) and Rakdos (Black/Red) Guilds.

Magic cards are released in two main ways, blocks and core sets. Blocks consist of three sets and have gameplay themes and storylines that connect the sets. Core sets consist of basic cards and reprints of older cards. Core sets don't have storylines (but sometimes give glimpses into stories from other blocks), but are more to give variety and staple cards to the tournament card pool.

 

Core sets are released every year (used to be every two years, but they changed to one year in 2010), usually in the summer. The first set of a new block is release in fall, with the rest of the block stretching into spring of the following year.

I'm looking forward to gatecrash more personaly, i'm a big dimir(blue black) fan. i've kept myself up to date with spoilers and such, i don't mind the new golgari mechanic, i think it's really good in limited, my plan was to play golgari for teh pre release, not it just looks mroe likely.

 

For those of you who are unsure in how the prerelease will work this time, because it's gonna be special. You will chose one of the 5 guilds currently avalible. You will get a promo card from that guild which is useable in your deck, 5 regular boosters, and one guild unique booster. Lots of fun.

I'll be out of state for the pre-release, so hopefully I can find a card shop near there. I'll be quite pissed if I miss out on the Izzet promo. I don't care what it is, I want it.

Well, scavenge isn't that bad, but it's not very good, looking at some of the costs it has and not being instant speed. And obviously it's awesome in limited, since high costs don't matter as much, so the efficiency of it gets to shine.

 

And I hope with the nee Dimir we'll get some kind of playable mill deck. I've always wanted non-combo mill to be viable, but it never is, outside of casual, of course. WotC has really been pushing mill as a blue wincon in the past few years, so I'm hopeful

Im a magic play for the most part. but i have played others, pokemon, vanguard, kaijudo, and i try and didn't really like yugioh. thats about it for me

I might be overating soley because of innistrad limited, where travel preperations was just insane, it really was. soo many gmaes one just from that card.

Do you guys know of a way to play Magic online free? With that said would there be anybody who would want to play via Skype? I know that would be pretty hard to do but I’ve really got a scratch to itch right now.

Cokcatrice or magic workstation, both programs work fine, i'll probably try and run a tornament over cockatrice. But yeah, the're free and fine, skype also works xD

I used to play yugioh YEARS ago, but it never stayed with me and I quit it. Though I still play games with casino cards, like blackjack or Texas holdem. I haven't looked into magic yet, though I plan too.
