K_Cast 203 October 4, 2021 Share October 4, 2021 Firstly sorry for the rant, I'm not normally the kind to get into this kind of thing. I normally don't get involved in pony drama, as its often more stressful then its worth, however with the release of My Little Pony: A New Generation now comes with a new wave of insults, slander and Brony bashing, even to the extent of bringing on a person as a guest to Fox and Friends, to call us all out a sex predictors. We are now front and center once again being called Nazi's, woke, and worse. Personally I'm tired of it, and this normally peaceful pony is going to take a stand. Hoof to heart, its time to do my part. I do not mean this as a call to start hate towards these people, but I think the world needs the message we all learned, keeping Twilight's dream a live in our hearts and using that to fuel some change against the hurt these people are causing, to help educate people about who we really are, maybe opening some small minds, or of those that really just don't get it having only seen us in the news. I know this will end badly when these people start to protest our gatherings and conventions, mark my words it will happen in time. Is it time to start standing up for ourselves, and start to fight back against the hate, and division, using the lessons we have learned from Twilight and her Friends to open some eyes, and stop the hurt.? This show in the end was built for kids, can't these kids have something in this world that's free from all this? They deserve love, dreams, hope and escape from the real world just like any of us, hearing these stories having breakfast with their families are no drought hurting them inside, now rather then let their kid enjoy one of the best moral shows that's come in a long time, helping their kid to understand how to make friends, how to be themselves, and help others, they will now turn that tv off, cutting her off from the magic we all are a part of. Over stories and labels from a few bad apples being put on all of us. Is it time for us to start to fight for the magic of friendship, as Twilight has taught us, or are we only a fandom of words? Their movie review, they completely missed the meaning and story entirely only seeing what they wanted to see, now a lot of parents that watch this network are saying they will stop their child from watching this wonderful film, honestly robbing them of a great lesson, and hope that children need now more then ever. I think Sunny's father said it best "I leave all the brainwashing in the world to you" they seemed not to like it when I used a quote from the movie itself, that they didn't even bother to watch before labeling us all woke, and a bunch of nazi loving lunatics'. Its time this ends. If needed taking Fox in a lawsuit for slandering us to the point where people might end up hurting some of us over their comments, and hatred for our community. I have been in this fandom since very near the beginning, almost 11 years now, was director of a production that helped launch Poniverse, have been running a brony animation production team since then as well, I helped start Everfree Northwest, I have staffed pony cons in multiple every single year since then, seeing how beautiful and giving this fan base really is. Is it right we continue to allow Fox and some of these other news outlets to get away with shaming, and slandering our entire fandom, for the miss guided actions and activities of a few? The damage these monsters are causing might be irreversible if we do not start to act soon, sharing our stories, showing people who we really are, it may not do a great deal publicly, but I bet a good deal of these people will inside realize they were wrong, and maybe look at us in a different light if we are open and honest, weather they choose to say so or not. I have started to actively post to these sites / youtube channels, to try to give the public a real picture of who we really are, how we have spent 11 years helping people, bringing together people from all walks, helping so many of us with social issues work past them together, and taking the lessons learned from this show into the real world. I'm personally not willing to let these small minded fools get away with this any longer, but one voice means nothing against the storm. Maybe if we start to share our stories, get these people to stop shaming us, calling us Nazi's, woke, or worse, get them to realize who we really are, what we have done. Even if we can open just a few minds, maybe the world would be a little better. Rant over lol
Scarlet stellpen 38 October 10, 2021 Share October 10, 2021 I don't know if it's will help, but maybe someponies (or somebronies) had already begin to fight back on their side. But i think it won't be only "when" but "how" which will be important (sorry by advances all my clumsiness i would probably write) Indeed i already heard somethings around all this bashing, and i must say people who talk badly about My Little Pony:New Generation can be some fans who disagree with some of the ideas of th movie (and even fear the G5 lose what was the most important things the G4 bringen us), or some people who see (and maybe fear) the show becoming ideologic and maybe extremist later, or even ones targuet those who stain more or less the reputation of the show. These people have their point of view and the reasons to think like this, and trying to fight ideas in what i would roughly say "a dual of argument" won't be productive and see more destructive. I could compare this a two things: a chess game and Kingdom Hearts X union : .In a chess game the winner is the one to do a scale and mate, by the numerical superiority or by a good strategie. But what do we see at the end of the party when one or none of the player won? The sacrifices/lost they made for one victory. If none of them have win, they could see what they had lost for nothing, and if one fo two player win, the other won't be probably agree with this victory (that depend of the players'mentality"). And with the communication somewhere it would be like this if there should be some argues. the better way if i should give my opinion would be each other understand the point of view of each other and find a compromise to be not in this absurd duality. .And so Kingdom Heart x Union (i warn, i only see the recap of the story, sorry if I abridged like this). Story spoiler: Spoiler At the end of the game, we see all the Keyblad wielders, representing the light, fight each other in a war who will end their existence. And why? because they saw to each other faction a potential traitor. My personnal reflection with a potential spoiler: Spoiler I found this story interessing because each of them had their point of view about each other, seeing them like traitors, but all of them had forgotten they where all "light" without exception. and by the end, rather than reasoning and speak together to fight the culprit/traitor/shade, they decided to fight because they thought they were right. After some pleoples would stay harsly in their position despite all the share, maybe by fear, comfort or other reasons i counldn't say because i don't have all "answers" (and it would be pretentious of my part) After for the gatherings or conventions, we already see this kind of problem with furries conventions, because mostly people who where agaisnt pointed out the the hide side of the iceberg, so it won't be so different if only how we will be qualify for some of us. So indeed, if you and/or some bronies plan to fight back with argue (textual/vidéo), it's a kind of way. Or maybe transfer at our turn the lessons by stories and good ways to share. Artists, story teller and concerned peoples have to be inspired of theirs messages to share them, but we should knwo also how we should share with youngs peoples and those who are more adult. I hope i don't have say foolery too much, and i could help a little .
Northern Star 1,024 October 11, 2021 Share October 11, 2021 Fox went off the deep end a while ago(both in viewers and ratings) while keeping its previous reputation, so I wouldn't worry a terrible lot right now, but if others pick it up...then there's something. I thought calling bronies things had become passe years ago. Once in a while you might read a story about a creepy fan, but those are the exception, not the standard. And just... just don't watch Fox anyway. You know once I was searching for the movie in google and got a result from Fox throwing the dreaded word "woke" which has sort of lost all meaning. ...Is showing the harm of fear and mistrust of others considered a contentious thing now? That was always pretty accepted. Pretty much every show promotes these sort of positive things. It helps to look at some things and see they're really just stupid. You know what? Read this. It's a good counter. https://www.cbr.com/my-little-pony-new-generation-woke-not-different-than-cannon/ Edited October 18, 2021 by Toastypk
Pentium100 2,120 October 18, 2021 Share October 18, 2021 The problem with MLP (and anime) is that the more, let's say, weird fans are usually the most noticeable. This creates a stereotype, but the fact that the show is targeted at little girls makes the stereotype somewhat worse (than, say, for Star Trek fans). IMO, My Little Pony is just a TV show. Though it sometimes (from the comments in this forum and from people's reactions) almost looks like it's sexual orientation or something. It's just a TV show, just like so many other TV shows. Why people (on both sides) make so much fuss over a TV show I don't really know.
EpicEnergy 23,177 October 18, 2021 Share October 18, 2021 It doesn't surprise me, as when something gains popularity, haters rise up against it. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Meson Bolt 2,648 October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 Like many fandoms, the brony fandom does have a problem with pedophilia, and acting as though stating this fact is a "hate crime" or "brony bashing" or whatever is just ignorant and self-centered. Your family is who you make it out to be.

Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824 October 19, 2021 Share October 19, 2021 The truth is, the media will never truly get it, because the mind has been wired to only look for the negative, when in fact there are many more positive things within a microcosm (MLP FIM & G5 in this case) Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeWg-TtBRMfqketa1ELyKGg Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/menelik-david-kenneth-cannady 2nd SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/thunder-dash-alternative/tracks Pony.fm: https://pony.fm/thunder-dash
