A Pony Named Rob

Ok, we need to talk about this. In Sprout's mob song "Danger Danger", he points at a pony and says, "look at that guy", to which the pony replies, "Uh, my name's Rob". Nothing out of there ordinary here, right? Wrong! In the real world, maybe, but this is an earth pony town where you expect names like Sunny, Hitch, and Sprout. So who is this mysterious "Rob"? Somewhere behind that inconspicuous face, does there lie a life of theft and crime? What robbing destiny has this Rob made for himself?

Maybe it's just a name... but maybe it's more. Ideas?

 The pony who changes their name every other month is questioning a pony with a "normal" name? Hilarious.  JK. 

I think he likes stealing strawberries or "robberries", if you will.

I bet his original name was Robin and he changed it after he parted ways with his old friend, Batman, who explored caves attempting to prove the existence of bat ponies and taught him how to play baseball.

While rare, not the first time a pastel horse had a normal name. We have Donut JOE, and *shrugs* “ Karen”

Some are saying he's a shout out to Rob Renzetti, who was the story editor for the first two seasons of FiM(there's even a picture comparing the two)

It's obvious that "Rob" is hiding his real name, so the important question is why? I bet that this is foreshadowing for the series and "Rob" will be the main villain.
