"ahhh, I see... Wait what? Hmmm..... You must've really pulled her strings to make her do that to you..." Shade would question.

" Hmmm.... I don't see her to be that kind of pony.... Must be the stress finally kicking in.... I told her before to hire more ponies, since what she's doing is impractical." She would try to think of a place where they could treat her comrade but alas she has no other options to choose

"Hmmm. Sorry Blu, but I live in hiding and know but a few places." Then it hit her.

" Oh!! The princess! Surely you have not dare to insult an alicorn..... Have you?"

" If not then our next destination is the Friendship Castle."

" And do not worry I can become your Shadow Blu, no one would see me coming!" She would then burst into ashes and glide towards your shadow.

Your shadow spoke: " please travel to a shaded spot for it would be too hard for me if I hid in a small shadow, since you are already small to begin with..."

If nothing else would interrupt them Shade would guide them through Ponyville in the shadows...

“Should we just find another place to hide,” Silver had been listening to Shallow and Blu's conversation the entire time, he was bothered that they're going into what he assumes to be a hostile territory thanks to the information Shallow revealed. He decided to give some ideas for them, hoping they found one of them useful, “I'm afraid it may not be a good idea to go to go somewhere where an assault took place. But if you all are still convinced to go there anyway, at least try sneaking at night. Darkness means reduced visibility, low chance of getting attention, and low population of ponies wandering outside.”

Blu was confused by Shade's sudden desire to hide, "What the- No! Get out of there. Why are you hiding? I'm not going anywhere until you explain who this princess is. I'm already wary if her castle has the same name as that horrid school. Taking a step back, why can't we just leave her at the hospital? She's already got the ring that makes her undetectable as an ODT, and is technically already a member of Smile anyway. This really doesn't need to be that complicated."

"You are a weird one Blu, here you are a member of SMILE yet you hate them to the core. And the one oppose to that organization Starlight Glimmer, the strongest unicorn in existence, is up on your business and mutual hate is upon you both.... Ahhh truly your life is quite.... mysterious and grandeur? Well the princess who rule the Castle of Friendship is Princess Flurry Heart. She too is a nice pony... I'm sure even with your... Ahm attitude, she would lovingly welcome us all."

Then Blu would mention to just drop Twilight at the hospital.

" You do know that I was also a member of SMILE, and they were still able to snuff me out. But if you have faith with your superiors that they won't betray you... Then by all means. I mean you two have been together the longest, you know what's best with your.... Friend? Acquaintance?" Blu's shadow spoke.

it seems  Shade is comfortable hiding in your shadow... Maybe a bit of sunlight would draw her out?

@Windy Breeze

" Ahhh true. Silver has a point, we can wait out for a bit at the animal sanctuary near this forest. I know a bear there that protects that place, surely he would welcome us with open claws."

Blu snorted, starting to get a bit angry at Shade's comments, "I've been here for all of two days and already I've been assaulted, kidnapped, had my life threatened, and nearly murdered, so forgive me if I don't know where I should stand in all of this!"

He was practically shouting at the end of that, he took a few deep breaths before continuing, "Both sides have hurt me, so I'm not inclined to trust either. Frankly, I have no reason to trust you either." He sighed, turning his gaze to the gun in his gloved grasp before stowing it away, "Until I can properly and reliably defend myself, I don't think I'll be able to trust anyone."

He looked like an idea struck him, "And that's something I can try and fix here and now." He pulled the Kernel out in front of him as he sat down, along with the metal plates and scabbard he had been carrying from the castle. "You two take care of Twilight, I'll be here. If all goes well, by the time you come back my worries of defending myself will be a thing of the past."

Assuming they did move on to take care of Twilight, Blu would open up the Kernel and start reviewing the information they had copied from the metal book. Given the scabbard was already mostly tubular it wouldn't be difficult to make it into the tube shown in the diagram, then adding the requisite runes and charms as described. Then he'd break down the plate metal into ammunition for his magical railgun.

shade would then pat Blu's head from the shadow...

"Ohhh, Wow. That must be some kinda record. I've been here for a year now and everything started to turn for the worst just a month ago for me.... I guess it has something to do with the sudden mass trespassing, just like what's happening now... I think we should make base in the animal sanctuary. At least there we could have a rendezvous. " Shallow Shade would phase out of your shadow and come into existence once more.

She would bow down once more to Blu and apologize.

" Ohhh, again. I'm sorry."

They would proceed to the Animal Sanctuary, but no Mr. Bear to greet them.

" That's strange... Mr. Bear must be out hunting food." She said while looking around for him.

"So for now we'll part ways here I guess? Is there anything you want us to get while we're in Ponyville?"

And for that Shade and Silver would part ways with Blu for now.

Seeing most of Shallow and Blu's discussion are mostly between them and does not have to do with him, Silver decided to stay out. He wasn't up to having bad blood with someone too early, knowing these two ponies are currently the two individuals who he has to stick to since all three of them are being hunted down by a big bag organization. He did give Shallow a nod of approval to Blu when asked to take care of Twilight. He gave Blu a look of sympathy.

Silver was a bit curious about who Mr. Bear is, assuming he is not a member of SMILE because it appeared both of his companions trusted this mysterious individual. He did not get the clue, even when they arrived at an animal sanctuary built by the forest limit of the Everfree, that Bear is not a pony.

As he and Shallow are about to part ways with Blu, Silver decided to speak up to the shark-pony hybrid, “I need a map. If possible, let's try to find one or atleast a history you know that contains a map.” he turns to say his goodbyes to Blu, “We haven't interacted much but I'm pleased you didn't choose to pounce at me unlike your sharp-teethed pal here,” he briefly shot a smug smirk at Shallow before continuing, “Farewell, my friend.”

If nothing concludes...

Blu would be finally alone to thinker with his new knowledge. Proper calculations, width, depth, design, practicality, ease, weight, and use.

( Add some stuff in or details etc and I'll try to draw the weapon.)

Blu was a bit surprised and confused at being called a friend by Silver, which was evident enough from his expression, but he simply replied "Just try and make it quick, once you've dropped off Twilight you won't have the benefit of her ring to hide you from Smile."

Once he was safely alone he would build the device as outlined previously, using the diagram in the book as a base. He would test the design as it was, to make sure it was working, simply flinging the projectile into the ground to test the recoil, accuracy, and power. Given the propulsion was magic magnetism, and not explosive, it should only make noise on impact, and not nearly the level of noise one would expect from a normal gun.

Assuming the weapon functioned properly, he'd add a second cylinder extending forward to surround where the 'bullet' was held, and add rings of secondary magnetism enchantments along it. Combined with a series of runes to handle the timing such that the polarity would flip at just the right time such that the 'bullet' would be propelled forward even faster and with greater accuracy than before. To accommodate this he'd shape the bullets to be more cylindrical with a domed front to keep it from rolling down the barrel. This extended barrel would make it harder to reload, but the accuracy and power would likely make up for it. Plus he could always remove the barrel if he needed to fire more quickly, though even then it would still be much slower than his gun.

He would hold off on enchanting the bullets for now. The raw power this magical railgun had would likely be more than enough to disable most ponies. He'd test the gun again, still firing into the ground, to make sure everything was properly adjusted. Then he'd look into making a scope, but given he didn't have any glass it would be little more than an iron sight for now.

He would do multiple attempts on making his weapon. At first there was a leak on the case, second magnetism was too weak and would fling the projectile prematurely... But his third one worked well. not as powerful as he'd hoped, but it can put a hole on the wood.

Blu would notice that there are no creatures in the Sanctuary.... It seems that you've might've frightened them off.

As he made his secondary cylinder for his weapons extension. He wasn't able to properly test it out as the rustlings of the bushes started to get louder and louder, heading towards you.

Now more properly armed Blu trained his weapon on the approaching potential assailant. As he hadn't tested it yet he set the secondary cylinder aside, he wouldn't need the extra accuracy at this distance anyway, "Come on out, slowly, I'm not going to hurt you unless you force me to."

He would of course fire at the first sign of danger, like if something jumped out at him, but if they came out slowly he'd relax a bit.

As the rustlings approaches, you see a purple mist creeping out from the bushes where the rustling is coming from.

You have a vague idea what's to come and surely enough, it revealed it's ugly head as it creeps out from the trees.

Yes from the trees! It seems that the purple mist bear abomination has grown that it's head is popping out from the trees.

Perhaps one of the reason why it was able to cross the ditch.

It would stare at you quite ominously and slowly go towards you.

Choices needs to be made.

will you fight or flee? It looks like you can test your weapon on this one, as it seems to be quite slow at moving. But looking at the beast, your weapon needs a bit more fire power to actually deal some damage to it.

Perhaps his secondary cylinder can do the trick?

"Shoot, this again?" Blu was smart enough to know that you did not use a weapon in combat that had not been tested. Besides, he doubted his weapon could do much against a magical mist creature literally made of meth. His best option was to flee first, and fire if cornered.

Blu would quickly gather his things and flee in the direction of town, hopefully there'd be some sort of guard there to defend if it followed him there. If there weren't there'd at least be other targets, and if it didn't follow then he'd still be safe and would circle back to the sanctuary in a bit if the mist monster left.

The bear seems to have not followed you.... Curious? Might it have been attracted by something? But the rustling did not stop though... Something else followed you. It did not give time to you though unlike the bear. But a purple bunny pounced out of it and aiming right at you. Is it here to hug you?

@Kujamih

Blu couldn't trust that the purple bunny wasn't simply possessed, such that as soon as he shot it it would be revealed to just be a normal bunny with no hint of it ever having been purple, and thus he'd be labeled as a dangerous delusional colt with a gun.

Although, his gun was powerful enough that, as small as the bunny was, there wouldn't be much left to identify the bunny with...

He shook his head as he kept up running to town. No, it would be better if at least one other creature could verify what was happening, maybe deal with it for him.

He would not be so hesitant if the bunny managed to catch up and attack him, especially if it drew blood, at which point he'd use his weapon on it without a second thought.

The purple bunny like creature easily got near and attached itself to you as if it was a magnet, hugging you.... While draining a few amounts of your Energy.

Yup it was one of the purple mist.... Possessing a bunny. The absorption wasn't life threatening but still noticable. Like if an ant bit you, not deadly but still painful.

Soon after, another purple mist creature showed itself! Now it's a bird! You notice that this creature lives a purple trail of mist from it's body, and so does the bunny, which leaves some dust to your body as well.

Even though Blu would like to avoid killing innocent creatures and these things barely drain much energy, the quantity of these leaches will surely kill him of if not dealt with.

While Blu was hesitant to shoot the bunny, he wasn't hesitant to give it a solid 'thwack' with the butt of his magic gun, which should knock the bunny out at best, and disorient it at worst. In either case it should fall off of him until it could regain its senses and start pursuing again.

The bird would get a similar treatment if/when it got close enough.

He'd been running for a bit now, shouldn't he be coming up on the town by now?

Blu would notice that after thwacking the bunny, it would knock out the purple off it, and return back to it's natural white fluffy cute self, Same with the birb...

It seems a K.O. would bring back the creatures back to it's senses.

And yes, his frantic running has reach him at the edge of the Everfree Forest and Ponyville. As Blu have left the forest, he now knows that the sun has just set....

Blu was relieved to see the town in the distance, and relieved to see his efforts were more effective here than they had been against the previous mist monsters. Still, he redoubled his efforts to reach the town, even if he weren't actively being pursued any more he'd still feel safer back at Lyra's house. A lot had happened that day, and he'd need some time to process everything. Meeting back up with the other two would have to wait until tomorrow.

The streets seems to be less busy and creapily quiet.

He was able to reach Lyra's home safe and sound, but something was missing? There was no one there to greet him. The nosy unicorn and earth pony was no where to be seen. The house was dark and lonely, just the way they left it.

Blu had hardly expected Lyra to be back already, she had been called away somewhere distant just that morning so he had assumed it would be several days before she came back. Besides, even if she were home they didn't exactly have the relationship where he'd expect her to greet him, he much preferred to be only briefly acknowledged or his presence ignored when he didn't draw attention to himself.

He had also never seen the town at night and as such had no basis to tell if it was quieter than usual, so the lack of ponies went unnoticed by him.

He assumed that Lyra and Bonbon would have some sort of magical defenses on their home, given their line of work, so relaxed a bit once safely inside, returning to the room he had woken up in to finish converting the metal left over from the gun's construction into additional ammunition. Come morning he'd be ready to face the world on his own terms, confident in his ability to protect himself.

Blu wasn't typically one to sleep late, but chalked it up to the intense rigors he had been exposed to the previous day. He had been about to wash up before heading back to the sanctuary when someone knocked, so he decided to head down and check the door.

If there was a window that overlooked the doorstep he would check out that first, and would only proceed to the door if he was spotted by the one on the doorstep, if they looked somehow official, or if it was one of the ponies from the day before. Otherwise he would ignore them.

If he did end up answering the door, he'd do his best to play up the young angle, going with a curious "Hello?" rather than the skeptical silence he'd usually employ.

He'd look through the window and he'd see Cozy Glow, who seems somewhat impatient. Eager to talk to you perhaps? If so howed she know where you live?... Or just needs to use the girls room? It looks like it's urgent or something. But why of all places here?

Well he definitely wasn't going to open the door for her. But still, he was curious as to why she would be here. He would take a seat on the other side of the door so he'd be able to hear if she called out, maybe she'd reveal her intentions without him having to reveal his presence?
