Remixes that sound like they are the original?

So.... I just finished listening to a song where the remix sounded like it would be the original while the original sounded like it would be the remix.

The song in question:

Georgia Brown - Forgiven (sounds like a remix, but it's the original)

Spoiler

vs. DJ Patife's remix (which is on an album that's mostly DnB remixes):

Spoiler

Any other songs that are kinda like this for you?

I think Tactical Sekt has several good examples of this, one that comes to mind immediately is Xfixiation.

This is the original, which has a slower pace, more of a slow burn to it and it is longer.

Then that compared to :SITD:'s Hellfire remix, which is more upfront, hits harder. It sounds like it would be the normal track, specifically if it were on the Syncope album.

Can't say I've ever confused a Remix for the Original.

I have confused COVERS as the original, and there have been times where I failed to realize a song was Sampling another song, but that's a different story. :twi:

An obvious example is "Discord", here's the original:

And here's the remix, which is more popular, and sounds kind of like it's the original:
