KirbyFluttershy 2,524 April 6 Share April 6 I'm starting to think that as a nintendo fan and player, i shouldn't let these mixed opinions and what people has to say about switch 2 get to my head so easily. i know i should be deciding for myself if i get the game on launch, but getting it for xmas 2025 would be my plan B if i don't get it at launch. I'm just excited and eager to look forward to those games anyway, but upgrading the microSD express card, that's 1 thing i need to do and go over. i know the 1TB microSD express card is expensive so i may just get 512GB if i have to. Of course, there were no tariffs back then so it was easy for Nintendo to make the cut without losing face. This time around, things won't be as easy for them to overcome. It might be an uphill battle, sure, but I'm sure they can find a way, fingers crossed with hope. It would be economic *death* if they raised the price instead of lowered it, which they most likely full well know.

If more tariffs get applied which is highly likely, they may have no choice but to raise the price. If they do lower it which is what I and so many people want, Nintendo are going to lose money on every console sold not to mention on every game sold. Oh, and don't get me started on how retail stores are feeling about all of this.

Raising the price would basically be ensuring that the console rots on shelves and we'd end up with a semi-Wii U situation. The way I see it, we're very much in a 3DS-style situation, truth be told. If they dropped it around, say, $350 and the games weren't $80 USD (darn near $100 CAD), then there would never have been such a strong negative reaction to the pricing of it all. Megas 27,969 April 11 Share April 11 Most people seem fine with the $450 price point. It's the price of the games(which so far is just MK) people take issue with And given they delayed the tariffs another 90 days, they're trying to get as much stock as possible into the US as possible. There's still a 10% tariff, depending on how much they're already making from the $450, there's a likely chance that initial price is sticking(here's hoping) I feel like people are still bracing for a price increase because of the tariffs in the future, that's just something that's unfortunately unavoidable

They hid the prices on purpose hoping no one would notice, but consumers ended up noticing as it didn't take very long.

And where did that get them? A massive online backlash. It's so apparent that Doug Bowser was such a poor hiring choice for Nintendo of America. Rakman 38 April 17 Share April 17 I'm hopeful that the Switch 2 will eventually find a way to right itself. But I probably am going to wait on buying it until I can pick it up for less. I'm pretty optimistic for the games themselves though.

It may even be too late at this point.
StaryStory 3,898 April 17 Share April 17 At this point I guess the question should rather be "who's not disappointed?" :T "Stand quiet like the Sky, and Move faster than Lightning" Follower of the ultimate power, spirit, divine dreams and wishes of the Heavenly Eastern Angels of Stars (Starys), Husband of Mary, The Eastern Stary. OctoAori20 6 April 25 Share April 25 Well... I'm pretty annoyed and disgusted. An individual in my family decided to pre-order a launch day Switch 2 when I explicitly and CLEARLY spelt it out to them NOT to do so and to wait months for the all but inevitable price drop. It irks me when people do such things... Makes me go "...Really? And you didn't think to approach me to ask for my permission or lack thereof on this?..."
Stone Cold Steve Jobs 22,477 April 25 Share April 25 i don’t really see much difference between it and the Switch beyond a slightly different aesthetic. I’m sure I missed something; but no. And that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so!
Megas 27,969 April 26 Share April 26 I got a preorder secured at Gamestop and it's kind of emblematic of the importance of in person shopping. I had a surprisingly good time waiting in line and have always wanted to do a midnight launch
