I wonder if this is the cancelled pony verse show the other rumor was talking about. In which case I can kinda see why they decided to not go along with it because I… don’t like it at first glance. Only having three ponies each from G4 and G5 just feels like they’re trying to, and failing, to appease both G4 and G5 fans. I just don’t really like the vibes it’s giving off, honestly.

Pipp not interacting with Rarity makes me dislike this idea a little bit, TBH and don't forget about Pinkie Pie and Izzy Moonbow.

This does look easy to doctor, but if it's real, intending to cut characters from the main casts of the two most recent generations before it was scrapped, definitely feel it was for the best it was scrapped.

Not sure how I feel about this. I'd be down for a G4/G5 crossover but I'm not to hot about cutting both the main casts and I really dislike the set up

Seems pretty high quality to likely be a joke (though anything's possible with the talent in this community). If this was a proof of concept, a fully animated version could have been cute/fun, but it would also be hard for me to love for various reasons. If this was actually what the show was supposed to be (storybook style), then I'd view it as more of a sidenote to the main franchise (like the comics). If it was already cancelled, then it's a mere curiosity for us to reflect on. Regardless, at least it's something to talk about!  

 

P.S. I've already seen some people claiming to have a reliable source who says this is fake, so take that as you will.

Honestly I doubt it's fake, it's too well made in the right time to be troll-made. Also, looks like uploading it to youtube gets instantly deleted. I still have to write my impressions about it though...

The story concept isn't too bad but I'm not happy with the character choice, we already know how our G4 girls got their cutie marks, I don't like the idea of that being changed/re-told, I think I'd prefer if they introduced new mane characters for this

I thought the same but I feel like there's too much effort put into it for it to just be fake. I did read someone say that maybe it was a fan series proof of concept video that's now being spun as some sort of official project. But I really don't know. Realistically the only ones who do know for sure are Hasbro and they're probably not going to say anything

There is a chance it was made by a fan but I do doubt it, I doubt even more that it was a fan work now something official.

I gather its more of a pilot to be presented and assessed, if Hasbro likes it they can then green light it to be a series or not sort of thing.

From the website the video was originally leaked (now deleted/dead link), looks like this new show or whatever it's going to be is not G6, but referred as G4.1 by Hasbro. Which...doesn't make much sense, knowing G5 characters are there, but I can see that if they are really trying to bring a full G4 reboot.

Might as well call it G4.5 then... wait, isn't that generation already taken by Pony Life?

I had a feeling they would do something to celebrate the 15th anniversary of FIM, it looks like this could be their answer. Hopefully we also get a new Equestria Girls cartoon in 2028 for its anniversary while they're at it, considering they didn't do anything for its 10th anniversary. (They were close to releasing new EQG dolls of the G5 characters, but they scrapped it, possibly due to budget cuts and the Warner Bros. Discovery contract that's due to expire in about half a year from now.)

I'm a bit surprised. Mostly surprised they put in that much effort just for "the lulz" and to spread misinformation. Kinda scummy. The other rumors came from that same server didn't they? Did they mention anything about those being fake? Even if they didn't I feel like this whole situation has just cast even more doubt on their legitimacy.

So it's all real after all... I don't really know what to say. After the twitter message screenshot, I'm concerned that it's not a cancelled project as mdash said it is supposed to be. And if the information in the video above is correct, I'm more concerned for how many days G5 have. S2 just started...

The most insane thing is...the official MLP Twitter account...hasn't posted anything since 2014. Even Briarlight admitted that this is very odd behavior for Hasbro, who normally would've just had the content taken down without sending a notice. I have no clue what kind of message Sethisto got, but I know this is extremely weird.

Look, I want to give this new series a chance (if it ever releases), but Generation 5 is just so bad. A New Generation tells us that the different races of ponies have been living apart out of fear for so many years and no pony remembers Twilight and her friends. Why don't more people see how wrong this is? G5 was a huge insult to Friendship is Magic. Maybe if this new series isn't canon to G4 or G5 I would watch it, but right now I have to turn my back on G5 and any everything related to G5.

@Tari SRDS It's a full reboot, for both G4 and G5, and the only things from G5 are the characters and earth ponies magic. I might wait for more details or leaks before giving a strong opinion about it, because no one really knows what it'll be about: a show? A game? Toys only?

Why did they post what Hasbro said to them? That might get them in even more trouble.
