Soo I use to be really really good at claw machines and then when my cataracts came worse and worse  I couldn't do it anymore but I have gotten surgery and now been out of practice but today I went to Round One and won these plushies :D..... SO the question is ARE you good at claw machines? do you watch people play claw machines? what is your favorite way to win plushies?

Good job! :eager:

I have never tried claw machines. I thought it was impossible to win... at least I got this impression after watching some movies in which they used claw machines

I usually buy them but sometimes they are given at conferences :fluttershy:

Aww that is so cute! Ya American claw machine are much harder to win at then Japan ones (I’ve played both) the skill games are kinda better then the claw machine but claw machines aren’t totally hopeless if you know when to stop (kinda like gambling) lol

It's impossible to win at claw machines. I've never won anything from them, not even close. It really irks me because after I drop about ten bucks and deplete my generous reservoir of frustrated profanity in the attempt, some 12 year old kid will stroll right up and get a prize on his very first attempt. It's frustrating, infuriating and obviously designed for people with augmented faculties or alien DNA.

THE STAR WARS DAILY — STAR WARS: EPISODE II - ATTACK OF THE CLONES...

True, but I can complain, throw a tantrum and maybe turn just a little bit to the dark side over it, right?

I rarely play them, it's been a long time. Though there was this claw machine at a resort I went to a long time ago, the prize was candy and usually the claw could grab many pieces of candy if you did it right. Unfortunately when I returned to that resort, the claw machine was different and the claw was incapable of grabbing many pieces. WHYYYY (I mean I guess the place realized it was easy to win lots of candy there so they nerfed it)

I'm okay at Claw Machines, but not great. I've won a few and lost a few, which I guess isn't too bad. :P

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Oh my gosh those are so adorable! I'd like to say I am decent at claw machines. One of my best memories is winning something for my bestie, myself and this other girl that was playing the claw machine next to mine, she literally lost right as my claw picked up a stuffed giraffe so I gave it to her. Seeing her face light up was so worth it ;;

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got a good track record, and there's a pretty good machine in a restaurant nearby. I put in $10, and average 3 beanie babies. Some are vintage too!

Once I thought I had won one of the special prizes. Mixed in with the stuffed animals are some Easter eggs, and if you get the one with the "magic coin", you bring it up front and they come open it for you. I thought I was going to get a Nintendo DS but they informed me I had just found "a" coin and not "the" coin. It was a silver dime, so that's still something. It was the only egg in there though, and since them there's always been at least a half dozen.

My little sister enjoyed playing so much that I got her a mini claw machine for Christmas 4 years ago.

The first I ever won that wasn't just candy, was a stuffed lion. I didn't particularly like it, I was just so excited to have won! And that burst of joy was much needed because I had just been the third wheel on a date for my mom and her then boyfriend. For some idiotic reason, they thought it'd be good to drag me to a horror movie, "Quarantine" to be specific. I became temporarily scared of the dark and couldn't sleep for the next 2 days. On the third I finally passed out from sheer exhaustion with the lights still on, and was fine after that. Also that li9n was promptly torn apart by my beloved pet dog! :sealed:

WOW! these so much to unpack in this! LOL First that's cool you got beanie babies!

WHHY would they put just regular coins in there to trick people >.> thats just rude!

OMYGOSH, where did you find a mini claw machine??? was it pretty expensive????

Were you pretty young when this "date" happened and that's why you were forced to go? seems weird to take a child to a horror movie...... and poor lion never had a chance :(

@Starlighty If the machine wasn't such a nice one I would have been royaly miffed. On the plus side, I lightly dabble in coin collecting, so still a minor win in the face of unmet expectations.

I found it at a Burlington Coat Factory in the toy section. I don't remember how much it was at the time, but you can get them online now for $30-60.

I was 11 at the time, and I believe I was spending the weekend with my first stepfather (complicated family dynamics are another one of my specialties) at my grandma's, because I remember being near her house at the time, and having my travel backpack which I had with me in the theater, because we didn't want to leave it in the car for someone to steal, which thankfully gave me something to hide behind. I don't know why in that instance I couldn't just be left there until afterwards. My mom knew I hated horror films too so I really don't know what the thought process was. It wasn't a weird timing of picking up and going places either, because we all lived together.
