How do you call a chicken?

All I can offer is that chickens love the sound of a metal tin with feed in it being shaken about, that got ours running back to the coop in a frenzy. :PIPPIPHURRAY:
Basically any sound you repeatedly teach them to associate with food time will do the trick, can be verbal or otherwise.

Yes, the shake of the crack container.

But to get it down just right, you need to socialize with them strongly from a very young age, become their surrogate momma. Get them used to falling asleep in your arms, being pet, even clipping their toenails. When done right, they'll try to get into your lap if you sit down within their area. Essentially, turn them into a cat.

If you talk to them reassuringly, and repeat their name before and during handling positively, then they respond in kind and come to you when called, if not on their own accord.

You can go with any name, but practice saying it aloud. See how it rolls off the tongue, can you say it clearly with a raised volume, are there specific syllables that raise and lower. The last bit is important because animals will often respond to words that also sound like theirs. For example, I have a cat named Blue, but we call him Boo sometimes, and we have another cat capped Tulip, but I also call her Tularoo, and my girlfriend has a dog that lives with her parents named Cupcake whom we often call Cupparoo. All of these Oos raise some confusion because the animals hear that part and think it's them were calling or talking about sometimes. Something to think about.
