What’s your favorite shape?

A much younger me would've said a circle, but nowadays I go for a diamond with equal sides but elongated points on the longitudinal plane.

This still falls under the label of a rhombus, but I prefer this configuration.

Triangle, because it can be used in tessellation. You can do it with other shapes as well, but if you add enough triangles to a pattern you can make a ball with it, a dodecahedron to be exact.

With squares you don't get a dome or a ball, all you end up with is a cube, as they only have four sides on a 2D grid, or six sides if you place them in 3D, you can mix them in with other shapes, but then you're no longer just using squares.

But triangles are flexible, if you repeat a pattern often enough with them you can give it the illusion of being a perfect sphere or dome.

If it's 2D: Hexagons, that shape relaxes me.

If it's 3D: Dodecahedron, It always blowed my mind that you can have a tuelve-faced perfect shape using only pentagons. I don't know why, my inner self can't believe it somehow.
