Pokota 28 March 14, 2013 Share March 14, 2013 Personally, the lesbian ship that I like best Rarity x Rainbow Dash. I'm only meh on all the other combinations. As far as hetero shipping, I'll take what the writers are going to give me. Why not check out my blog while you're at it?
Ficta_Scriptor 165 March 16, 2013 Share March 16, 2013 I used to really hate lesbian shipping, but since there's so much of it in this fandom I've just gotten used to it. Still, it can get a bit ridiculous when you have fanfics where every mare in existence is either gay or bi. You have to wonder how the population would ever grow! Applejack and Luna are best ponies! mylilapplejack 0 March 16, 2013 Share March 16, 2013 I dont really care for shipping to begin with it, but ive got nothing against lesbian shipping specifically.Shipping itself is stupid imo. Exactly
Dashabel 381 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) To be fair, the only Heterosexual shippings involve Pipsqueak, Big Mac, and Braeburn. Not much variety there...Or depth. Plus, girl on girl is hawt.Nice trick there. Until someone quotes your post. MLP is the fandom where lesbian shippings seem more common and just, well, tolerated, I suppose. It's probably because the majority of characters are female. I mean, people in fandoms love to ship whoever possible just because you can; it's a fandom, and you gotta put up with it. But with MLP, because we don't have much to go on, it's like we're forcing same sex characters into shippings... Scratch that, I don't know what I'm talking about and that sounds wrong. Anywaaaay, I never thought I'd admit to liking certain lesbian/gay shippings (heck, I never thought I'd be a Brony and all that shizzle!), but I like both hetero and homosexual pairings; I think because it's so common in this fandom, I just got used to it. I used to despise the idea! (Not that I'm a homophobe), but simply because it was new to me and... Well, ponies?! But, some shippings were just too adorable for me to resist, they grew on me, and really, it just depends on whether the two seem to fit together. Like a puzzle piece— okay we'll stop there. Heatwave 177 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) I tolerate Twidash and Apple Dash if they're done well, but other than that, I'm not a fan of shipping. Edited November 19, 2013 by Heatwave

FoxyCryptid 4,330 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) I'm not like a die hard shipper, but I'll go with the flow if it's done well. I obviously lean towards straight and GirlxGirl, but I'm becoming accepting enough I can kinda enjoy the general fuzzy feels from MalexMale. Thou 37 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't know how you couldn't like same-sex shipping, In my eyes it's two personalities that are being shipped, My favorite ship Octavia x Vinyl is a prime example of this, Two polar opposite characters one Classy and refined where the other is very Upbeat and party-loving, If one was male and one was female in that example lots of people would ship it, It doesn't matter really what gender but personalities. Well that's my view on it anyway :3 Signature made by : Pinkmist
UserNotFound 964 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 To be honest unless the ship is canon... I don't really like shipping... Don't hate me... I just prefer to leave that sort of thing alone .
BalanceBrony 259 November 20, 2013 Share November 20, 2013 I will enjoy any shipfic, but I prefer Lesbian ships. I think the reason is because, in IRL lesbian fiction, there tends to be conflicts which go beyond relationship troubles, touching on deep psychological and emotional issues related to being considered "unnatural" "disgusting" or "obscene." In MLP shipfics, I get to see Lesbian romances treated like normal relationships, without things like cutting, identity issues, bullying, depression, and other darker themes which really put a damper on somepony's mood, yet which pervade many IRL lesbian love stories as seen in movies or fiction. I think this is why I prefer lesbian shipfics and shippings. In MLP, it is just another relationship, and is treated as normal and perfectly acceptable. It resonates with the part of me that really just wants to see lesbians be happy, without fear of what everypony might think of them.
