Hi everyone!! I’m new to the forums and was just recommended TrotCon as it is the closest to my area, and I was curious if anyone here had experience with it. I have never been to a pony con and have only been to one anime convention before so that’s about all the experience I have. What is there usually to expect and what’s the most fun parts? Is there booths of vendors selling pony stuff or is it more of just a lot of panels and events? Any insight is welcome! 

 

This is all super new to me and I want to learn all I can! If you haven’t been to TrotCon I’d also love to hear about other pony con experiences too. Thank you everyone for your kindness!

I don’t have any experience with pony cons to be honest, and I’ve only been to two other cons (Star wars Celebration 2 and ComiCon), but my general con expertise is to bring lots of money and avoid overzealous staff. If you have a camera, keep it hidden, or use a spy cam if you want to get any pics or vids. My experience is that convention staff loves to grab your money and then tell you all the things you can’t do AFTER you’ve paid (as was the case at SW Celebration). I don’t know if this would be the case with Trot Con, and I hope it isn’t because there’s lots to see and do at conventions. Just get a schedule and plan out your day according to your interests and priorities, making sure to allot time for queues. Most of all keep expectations real and have fun!
