Next Generation of Bronies

Master Chief

Recommended Posts

Today I was at Target looking for the Blindbag figures when a woman came into the aisle. I looked over and smiled, not wanting to look TOO suspicious. Suddenly, her son and daughter run in and they are about six or seven. Her son goes rampant. He began looking at each one, pointing out each one's names and saying what his favorite thing about them was. He then got really excited when he saw the Canterlot Castle playset and began shouting "There's Spike! There's Spike!". I laughed and walked away with a huge smile on my face. Sure, they may not have the figures, but that little boy is a Brony, I thought.

I've always been unsure of calling a little child a brony, since they're technically within the targeted age group, and bronies are generally considered those outside of the intended age group. That little boy will likely look back at My Little Pony as a fond memory as we do for a show like the Powerpuff Girls.

i dont think a little kid can be considered a brony because to him its just a fun show and i dont think he would look as deep into it all as most bronies do. maybe when he's older and MLP is on its 9 season

Well there's always the possibility that the show could run for 6 or more seasons, which will mean that kid will grow old enough to actually fall in the definition of a brony while still not really changing the aim or level of his interest.

When I was younger, I didn't find it "weird" or "gay" to be watching shows that now appear to be girly. He's still in the intended age group. But if his fondness of ponies caries with him to later years....

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

I got my little brothers (who are in the intended age range) to become absolutely obsessed with the show. Just like how I was with certain television shows when I was their age. They probably will not forget the experience, and as they grow older, they may soon join the brony community. (Which I know will last for a long time)

However, I call kids who love the show just normal fans of MLP, unless of course, they become obsessive to the point where you know they will become future bronies, which then I call them by that name.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

lol my five year old nephews think it's weird that I'm watching a "girl show," but I will find them enjoying it all the time.

I really hope G5 is just as good so the brony community can grow. Also there's just a lack of good cartoons now days.

Child bronies are so adorable, I remember seeing one in another Target in Bailey's Crossroads.

I don't think young kids can be called Bronies lol seeming how they are the targeted age group of the show and they probably aren't active in the "Brony" community.
