Anyways, there is no movie that I think is the "Scariest". I've seen so much I don't get scared anymore. Erm

btw PLEASE people don't say The Exorcist because that movie is as scary as a blank paper on a table.

Well uh I don't know. But hey people if you want tips for good horror movies I'm your person to ask C:

When I was younger I played loads of videogames (Still do.)

I remember this movie about some horror game and how they died in the game they died in real-life (Most of the time).

I forgot the title but this movie did haunt the crap outta me, but I was rather young (12 or something).. But hey, the closer it relates to your daily life (The more you can relate) the scarier it is.. For me anyway.  :P

Edit:

I seached the interwebz and found the movie.

It is called "Stay Alive".

Here is the trailer.

If we're talking freaking looking...probably dead silence. I HATE doll's...but the story in that movie was a little stupid. I wouldn't watch it again...not because its scary...because it was just kinda stupid...if that makes any sense.

Another really really scary movie that I actually enjoyed watching was The Decent...scared the bucking hell out of me.

And another movie that I loved (I couldn't watch it with the volume all the way up) would be the woman in black. Scary. Awesome story. Everything everyone looks for in a horror movie.

(One other movie that made me jump would be the changeling. The story was AWESOME But it wasn't really focused around being scary...it was at certain parts but I liked the plot more than anything.)

I don't
know how the english title is^^ Probably something with "Chucky" and
maybe "the murder puppet" ? :D

It's called Child's Play. I personally find these movies ridiculous, much funnier than some comedies :D

What's the scariest one I've seen? That's a difficult question. I hate cheap jumpscares in both movies and games, it's the atmosphere what matters for me. Perhaps its Japanese "The Ring"? Might not be the scariest, but I think it's far better than most of the American  horror movies.

I used to hate horror movies, being easily scared, but my dad's always wanted me to be his horror movie buddy. Eventually, over time of building up being less creeped out by scary stories, I started watching them, and now I love them, as long as they've got story, not just "Oh, look, a ghost." I've seen one like that once. It was pretty pointless.

Anyway, the scariest movie I've ever seen... That'd probably have to be The Woman in Black. It was AMAZING.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes. The fucking Poughkeepsie Tapes. This movie right here has the potential to scar you psychologically and never look at the people close to you the same way ever again.

If there are similar topics, then just report this one asking to merge them. Doesn't really require anything other than that. I agree about The Exorcist though, that felt too eager to bring in scares. It's the same as being force-fed chocolate, you're not going to find it tasty.

@,

How is the Saw movies scary? They are more like thriller horror than pure horror and honestly they doesn't even show enough. Damn guys think how amazing Saw 1 could have been if they showed everything in detail like when Dr Gordon cut his leg off.

That's the issue I have with many horror films. They never show things like that.

Is any saw movie scary?^^ I thought it's all just a really really big bloodshed^^

And I saw all of them a while ago^^

But yes maaybe it is scary for some

It's not very scary, just gruesome. Personally speaking, there's nothing in any of the Saw movies that would keep me awake at night, but yeah, some of the scenes are very uncomfortable to watch.

I think the scariest film I have seen were all the SAW movies. But not the new SAW movies, basically any saw movie that is scary.

I saw (No pun intended) the first one on IFC. It was pretty good, but I've heard the rest of them went downhill.

Goddamnit, The Orphanage isn't available in the US on iTunes, even though it was released almost 5 years ago.

That is a shame. The entire movie's available on Youtube, but it's not got any subtitles, and I don't think there's the option for it in Youtube's caption system...

Netflix if you have it?

Well for some people it is too much, yeah you're right. But well for example "Hostel" has more gore and such than horror and even though that I think the "Hostel" movies are Child's Play ("Child's Play" see what I did there?) to a bunch of other totally fucked up movies I've seen.

Anyways, well where I do agree with you that there is nothing that is really scary in Saw I have to mention that there is this that sometimes scares a bunch of people, haha.

So well it has a few things (that one for example) that could scare the easily-scared person.

But for me there is nothing scary in it.

Eh, I know a little bit of Spanish. Maybe one day. I tried to convince my parents to keep Netflix after the 8 week trial, but to no avail. :( Oh well, I'll find a way to watch it.

Spanish

Speaking of that, Have you guys seen the movies [rec] and [rec]2 ?

They are two very good horror movies from Spain that scared both my cousin and sister.

220px-Rec_poster.jpg

It has an American remake called Quarantine (2008) The original [rec] (2007) is better though.

I've heard of Rec. there's a movie called "Quarentine" which I think either is or is based of of Rec. I've heard it's really good, and it's on my list.

edit: Nvm, didn't see that bottom part.

I still need to see Rec. My brother recommended it to me just this morning. It looks brilliant - if it's anything like El Orfanato, I'll be super pleased.

Well if you are going to watch rec, watch both the first and second one at the same time. It takes a while before anything happens in the first one, but it's very good.

There was a creepy ass film I watched once...It was about this kids toys...they...came to life while he wasn't looking!

I think it was called Toy Story, or something.

Seriously though, I don't really know what scary movies i've seen. I wanna say the ring, on account of it being the only scary movie I can actually remember watching recently (about 3 years ago). But the Descent (I think it's that one? The one with the girls being chased by those crazy miner mutant things?)...scared the hell out of me the first few times I watched it. Mainly because i'm claustrophobic myself, and imagining being in their situation...just *shudder*.

Yeah, and i've never seen Toy Story either so...sorry if I got that wrong :3

I'd like to consider myself a big fan of horror movies.  I'll give you some of my scariest and favorites.

V/H/S - This is a film that works about half the time.  It's a series of short films strung together with a vague over-arching story.  Some of the segments are incredibly scary and effective, and some just fall flat.

The Shining - The slow and methodically disturbing tale of a man going insane.  Easily one of the creepiest films I've ever seen, but you have to be into a slow movie.

The Descent - Torturous, in that you almost never really get to see what's chasing you.  The darkness is terrifying to many, and this will make you in that group.

Jesus Camp - A friend of mine listed this as his favorite horror movie, and I've never been able to say it doesn't qualify since.  Truly, there is nothing scarier than real life, and this shows just how scary the insanely devoted and horribly misguided can be.

We are human, after all.  Flesh uncovered, after all.

Wow, I never thought of Jesus Camp that way. I always thought of it as a documentary on a very twisted matter... but yeah, it's so unnerving that it should definitely qualify :3
