gaming Final Fantasy XIII

Took about three hours worth of grinding on Gran Pulse but I finally beat Orphan. Now I'm quite ready for FFXIII-2.

I'm still debating whether I want to try to go for the Plat or not, or at least try to do all of the Cie'th Stone missions.

Congrats!!

This is something I still have yet to do myself, but don't think I ever will. Infact I even just started a new game again a couple months ago with all intentions to beat it and haven't touched it since.

I love FFXIII but it has always felt like one of those games you really gotta be in the mood to play if you wanna play it for longer than ten minutes. lol

Probably from the slow-pace of everything outside of battle. If the characters ran just a little faster I wouldn't have as much trouble with the "hallways"

That is exactly how I feel about it.

Good job on finishing it! I still haven't gotten through it yet either. It really tires me out to play, and most people have told me not to try the missions because it's just not worth it. I'll pick it up again and restart... eventually.

Well I wouldn't say they are totally not worth it as you get items from beating them but for the most part the CP you get from them is useless and the journey to them would be more worth it. If you like grinding though the whole process of going from the Cie'th Stone to the Mark can be pretty good for your Crystarium. Especially after you beat the final boss and it expands your Crystarium so you can become even stronger.

Personally, I don't fight super bosses but I grind to high levels so I can utterly destroy the final boss the next time I decide to fight him. :D

I've had the game for like a year and a half now and I'm just now beating it and I never once started over. I should replay it to refresh my memory on a lot of the story elements.

Gratz :D

how many hours total? I think my first playtrough, with som cie'th stoned was like 119 hours

and you should do all of those, at least the ones in the trials, then you can fight the most fun monsters in the game.

Also thank you, you got me into the mood to play some myself :D

ending song=the best :D

The game is one massive musical masterpeice if nothing else!

Gongrats on completing it... I got up to somewhere past that 'Sugar And Rainbows' scene between Sazh and Vanille (What a scene!)

I got stuck somewhere along the way with Vanille and Sahz in that one city.

Returned the game.

Watched the rest on Youtube.

I think my total hours were between 70 and 80 but I'm not sure. I didn't look. xD

I think you should have given it a little more time, Scottish, the characters really change throughout the game. Hope, everyone's least favorite at the beginning of the game, turns out to be one of the best character gameplay-wise and also turns into great character. He stops being all moody eventually. Every character shows good and bad sides of theirselves and they all generally change for the better as the game progresses. Some of them have great relationships with each other like Sazh and Vanille. Those two really make a good team, even when they are at odds.

If it weeren't for the story, I would never have even finished FFXIII. The gameplay was far too linear, especially considering how open most other FF games are. You get to the end of the game, then all you can do is explore Gran Pulse, and kill a few silly enemies in the Cie'th stones. I'm hoping they fix this in XIII-2.

From everything I've heard XIII-2 fixes like every problem fans had with the first one gameplay-wise. Plus it's adding a monster capture feature which some compare to Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

My favorite Final Fantasy is either IX, X-2 or Dirge of Cerberus.
